BC or anyone I need help!

I bought the Stage 2 Motor Up-Grade, When I put them in, my car sounds really rought such as: something isnt catching right, or there is dust and what ever in the gears, or maybe its just because of the Stage 2 Motors? Whenever I drive it, it has a rough sound to it, what do you guys think?

xmodsman 02-22-2004 08:09 PM

do u have the right bevel gear in it?

Sky_Liner 02-22-2004 08:11 PM

Your motor holder might be to tight, also like the post above do you have the right bevel gear?
It should match the color of the motor

RC 2NR 02-22-2004 08:25 PM

Try not tightening the heat sink so much.

Pocket_Rocket 02-23-2004 10:48 PM

Hey thanks for all the help, yea I have the right bevel gear that matches the motor, I will try to not screw the Heat Sink on so tight and see if that helps, and again thanks for your guy's help.

I tried to losen the screws, and the same thing is going on, what is this plastic Yellow part that Crazycowbob said, the plastic bearing? Whats that exactly? And what about the Bevel Gear? Isn't that the gear that comes with the Motor? And it is color matched to the different motors right? ex. Red Motor=Red Bevel Gear...ect...

Sky_Liner 02-27-2004 03:54 PM

crazy is talking about the plastic bushing thats in where the driveshaft connects to the bevel gear/ the yellow thing the driveshaft goes through, there should be a bearing in there.

Peace

Make sure the drive shaft and the gear are meshed. If the driveshaft isnt in there all the way it can bog things down. I hit a wall once and jarred it loose...it sounded rough..so i took it part put it back in and everything worked fine.

i had the same problem. first, take out the gear, wash it, dry it, put vasiline on it.then on the motors gear spray wd40. put it all back together with the heat sink screwed in very loose and hold the car upside down and accelerate for about 30 seconds. tighten the heat sink and try running it. thats how i did it and its fine now.

i lost a bushing on my driveshaft once and the shaking causes a high piched sound.
it also shakes up the car and goes a lil slower.
