if you want to hang onto it add 2 more batteries, it will give you something fun to play with

find a good "track" and some buddies to race with. I just got back from racing my friend in the conference room of where I work. We improvised a fast oval, then changed to a "C" shaped track. I thought I loved my xmod before- it was hella fun.

No wonder you're bored! You need to get a pinion puller, a soldering iron, some Fets, a plasma-dash/Spinbrush/whatever other motors people use. (I heard Okami type 4's get like 125,000 rpm on only 2.4 volts (AA's)And how could you not have bearings or a bodykit? Those are like the must-buy upgrades. Then again, the sportmaxx is a lot more fun, but you can't run nitro indoors on rainy days:D

Anx MAtrix,

Does your xmod for sale have AWD? If so name a price, I'll be willing to buy it.

Hehe....Wow I'm at school and talking on the net, see this is what you can do when you finish your work fast kids;) Now This morning when I walked into school I bought the White Supra from my friend the antenna wire was broke from the tab but that didn't bother Me so i'm gonna go by RS and buy a Soldering pen and some Non-Acid core Solder to fix this prob. Oh and recommend anything else I will need and any tips will help because i've never soldered before:eek: PS:Everything was perfect but there was one mirror missing! ONE!

pacificwarriors 02-03-2004 02:37 PM

Actually, it was a mini 4wd motor I found on ebay, the type four I mentioned doesn't have nearly as much, but is still impressive, and has ball bearings. I forgot the manufacturer of the motor with 125,000 rpms! I checked on ebay and nobody's selling them anymore! Oh yeah, and since they're mini 4wd, they only run on 2 AA's, and if you use Nicds/Nimhs, then it will only add up to 2.4 volts. click here

Ok, first of all, BE CAREFULL. The soldering iron is REALLY HOT, be careful of it. Grip the iron only at the HANDLE. I accidentally gripped it at a place near the tip that I thought would be insulated, but no, and I’ve got a scar to prove it.

Practice makes perfect. Get a circuit board from RS and some wire, and try doing a little arts and crafts by soldering the ends of the wires to spots on the board and make a pretty little design. You will gain practice by that, and have a neat little memento when you are done.

Wash your hands when you are done! The solder is made from some pretty toxic heavy metals, you don’t want it finding a way into your body.

Soldering is an art, everyone has their own way of doing it. Find the way that works best for you, and have fun at it!

True dat, schr-eng. Also, you might want to buy some rosin flux, the paste kind. It makes it so much easier. Just a little dab on the spot to be tinned, and then tin it, the solder flows like magic;) Here's a nice tutorial (they still don't mention the flux, you'll have to experiment): Click here

My soldering iron broke:(
