You most likely will not find Xmods for sale in a hobby shop. They are sold exclusively thru Radioshack stores.

i should clarify.i got the skyline for christmas.

i was just asking cause i want to more about rc.

racemini89 01-06-2004 06:51 PM

theres one in st. charles and one in napervill

Dont bring your xmod though. Radio Shacks are nothing more than glorified cheap toys to the r/c hobby shops. (Unless you don't mind smirks)

You also have Stanton in Chicago, Al's in Elmhurst, Lagrange Hobby Center and several Hobby Town USA locations throughout Chicagoland. I feel like a kid in a candy store whenever I go to a hobby shop.

chiprico 01-07-2004 05:08 PM

thanks btman.do they have races there?

racemini89 01-07-2004 07:26 PM

both are Hobby Town USAs

Btman 01-08-2004 02:10 PM

I have never raced myself (one of these days) I usually work on the weekends when a lots of locations race. However, I think most of the hobby stores I mentioned have racing in some scale (usually 1/10th scale). I believe some have mini-z races also.

I have not been in high school in over 20 years! I am really starting to feel old now. I will be taking a brief break from xmods to focus on 1/43 scale cars for a little while. The 1/24-1/28 scale cars are starting to feel a little too big for my indoor space, especially once the performance is upgraded. I will continue to occasionally run my xmods to keep my interest in 1/28 scale up. I feel that the smaller cars may be better for the space that I have. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a proportional control 1/43 scale car that has a fraction of the options and upgrades that the xmods have. That is why I will continue to be interested in both scales for now.
