'Idea' - High Flow Cool Air System

ok here's my cool air flow system theorem

I planned on molding a working roof scoop on top of my car

then buying the smallest labtop fan that exists and mount it under the roof scoop blowing cool air on the engine

keeping your engine cool but will require a higher voltage mod or
its own battery sadly :(

any comments or suggestions feel free

i gots tons of crazy ideas....this is just one

ive been thinking about that too but i was gonna use the front grilles instead. or put some slots in my hood and use one of the fans that go into a PCI space. (not actually plugs into the motherboard just to the power supply.)

sounds good..i looked at a little cpu fan a RS and it was almost $20...i couldn't believe it

fortunately i got mine for free. my aunt used to work at seimens in TN and we got a few free computers. when we were haveing the power outages we had some brown outs in central NY the one that was 5 yrs old got fried. oh well it got put out of its misery. damn Mechwarrior 3 wouldnt even play right on it.

will it fit in an x-mod and can u give me some info on this fan i am trying to find a small one to buy now as i write this reply. can u give me like a serial number or anything about it?

newbitowner 01-03-2004 08:42 PM

smallest fan i found in RS was about 2" and wouldn't fit

sorry Bleek i dont have any info other than it was at Best Buy. but now that i think of it, it was too big to fit under the hood too. it might fit under the "cab" with a roof scoop and have it blow air over the motor sorry. or just do the roof scoop but without the fan. put the scoop on and mold an air canal that goes over the heat sink and put an exhaust port where the liscence plate goes.

EDIT: ohh i found some LED fans. what about them? oh yea found the fan too Antec Blower Fan and it def. wont fit. 4.5" x 3.6" x 0.85" little too big?

sounds like a good idea but i was thinking more like a 1 inch diameter fan i once saw in an older laptop or a fan like these

i have couple of fans that are about 2" and 3 1/4" . there 12v and can run off of 18v the 2" will work. it equates to 50mm. 80mm is 15mm to big. but either way the light kit will probably need to be removed.

I'd love to rig a liquid-cooling system inside one :D

you'd either need a nitro engine running a water pump or have it pluged into the wall while driving it. or ive heard about a mat that charges cell phones without contacts. buy a lot of those to make a place to drive and you could have the electric pump running. :D

Bleek,
I have sent you an email concerning your signature. Could you please shorten it up a little bit, it's a little too long.

Thank you.

Bleek 01-04-2004 12:10 AM

sig ok or still too big?

Railside270 01-04-2004 12:26 AM

Why don't you use a bit motor and put a propeller on it. Or if you want an even smaller motor..use a digi-Q. You can use the rechargeable batt and charge it every time you run the car or you can use a different source of power...i.e Light kit?

Bleek 01-04-2004 12:32 AM

god idea i tried that but to run power to those motor i have to solder wires to it too small and tough
