range question

i was wondering, if you take off the stock little wire antenna and replace it with some copper wire that is also thicker and longer, will it increase the range and if so, will it increse it enough to actually take my time to do?

Yes, most people end up doing this, including me. It is only a matter of one solder joint, but well worth the effort. I double my range by adding 24g wire about 3 inches longer than the stock antenna.

BC, what do you mean when you say "one solder joint"?

The solder joint where the antenna connects to the PCB. Use your soldering iron to remove the stock antenna, and strip the end of your new wire and solder it in the same hole the stock antenna came out of.
