Mixing battery types?
I just bought another XMOD (white supra) because my red supra was acting up, steering was flipping out. I just tried the new one to make sure it didn't have the same problem, and it doesn't, steering is flawless. Now I have a parts car :) I was just wondering, since I plan on using one of the battery holders from my old car to make a 6-cell mod on my new one, but I only have 4 I-C3 batteries, what are the consequences of mixing battery types? I wanted to mix my Rayovac I-C3's with RS NIMH rechargables. Thanks guys :D

i would think that one of them would start leaking due to the different types & voltages

But they're the same voltages, that's why I was wondering if they could be put together?

Same voltage isn't enough. They have to be the same discharge rate or they will discharge unevenly causing the batteries to wear out more quickly or possibly (worst case) fail catastrophically.
The only real way to get the same discharge rate is to go with same brand / model batteries that are charged to the same level. |
Ok, thanks :)
