xmods project skyline (need suggestions)

alright, i got an xmods skyline yesterday as a gift and i already knew of custom mods and motors for the car. heres my situation:

i would like to know what the fastest motor i can buy is, without any internal modification as i dont want to bother with winding and shunts and crap. please send me a link to where i can also buy the motor and if any modification is needed. (ie. dremel/solder/spacers)

the other thing i would like to know is where i should connect my 3cell aaa pack to the car. i have already tried just splicing them in at the end before it connects to the motor and it just runs continuously, so i would need to know where to solder so that its throttle controlled.

please post any site containing any mod for my xmods which is an upgrade/new mod for the car. any little part that is replaceable with something better will be appreciated. i plan on building the best xmods money can buy.

i will post my progress in the gallery forum as my car is already masked for painting. :P

On this page of this link you will find a wiring diagram of where to wire in your extra cells. Not sure the 3-AAA pack will fit though.

brilliant!

yep the 3 pack fits for my skyline. i might end up scrapping this for a 2pack because having to use the 2aaa rayovac 15min charger, it would be a pain to wait 1 hour to charge all the batteries rather than 45 mins for a little less power plus it will save motor life a little more. but as for now, its all connected and it is noticeably alot faster than stock, and im still running the stock motor cause its 1day old and i need to know more info on motors.

i also just bought carbon fiber driveshafts (all 3 lengths were included) and was wondering what the driveshaft does, other than to hold that one gear in place?

Besides holding the gear in place, the driveshaft is used for powering the front wheels when you have AWD installed.

bump, and also, where can i get like cf centershafts and cf parts not on ebay? and also WHATS THE BEST MOTOR!

I don't know because I haven't ordered any, but I imagine the CF driveshafts are simply CF rods that you can buy lots of places. Kites shops and craft stores come to mind. Just cut a groove in each end to fit the notch in the front and rear gears.

yeh but carbon fiber is quite a rarity in tube form or anything. i found a 2'x2' sheet of cf .100 thick for 32$ shipped on ebay but that is way to expensive for what i had in mind.
