taping windows before painting
 

how do you guys tape the windows so good? i came across bad company's picture of the civic with the duct tape on the windows. it followed the lines exactly!! it was amazing. so much accuracy. how do you guys do it so good? i personally, cannot do that.

Use a "sharp" number 11 Xacto blade to trim away the excess. A new and very sharp blade is the key.

have you guys ever accidently scratched the body? oh yeah, that wouldnt matter cuz your painting over it. lol.

an xacto blade is just a box cutter right?

the windows have a groove so if you take it slow it wont fall out of line.

No. I used a box cutter with a brand new razor blade the first time I painted my RSX. It didn't cut nearly as cleanly as the No. 11 Testors knife I picked up. This one is actually nicer than an Xacto, and cheap too.
