Post your drag times here!!!! FUN!!!

Okay I want to start this thread to see how hot everyone's mods are. This is a simulated 1/4 mile drag. Scale is actually abit over 47ft so let's make it 50 for convienence sake (and because that's what the mini-z guys are doing and I want to show them that the xmod guys CAN keep up with them). Use stopwatch or lap counter. I will post mine this weekend (as long as it don't rain).

Rules....

1. Don't lie, it's pointless.....
2. Post ALL of your upgrades ie....motor type,# of teeth on gear used, # of cells, bearings, glued tires, shaved springs etc......anything that did not come in the original unopened xmods box.
3.List the surface you ran on ie carpet, concrete, blacktop etc.....
4. Just like a REAL drag race, begin at a complete stop....NO ROLLING STARTS!!!! NO RUNNING DOWNHILL!!!!!!
5.HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll do this 2 morrow!

RedRSX 11-21-2003 10:50 PM

I have a RSX (St. 2, 10 tooth, bearings, stiff springs all around, 1.5 tierod, body kit, 4 cells, custom paint,)and i was down at the tennis court by my house and i found out that from the back of the fence to about 2 feet past the net it almost exactly 50ft... with fully charged batteries...we timed it 3 times and the average was 4.8 seconds:D

Lucid Dreams 11-22-2003 12:18 AM

to scale wouldnt that mean its a 14.8 sec. car in the quarter?

RedRSX 11-22-2003 01:22 AM

How did you get 14.8 sec???...I don't think you scale time...because time is a constant...but im not sure about that

cdog4w 11-22-2003 07:11 AM

come on guys, basic algebra :P

50ft/4.8sec * 60sec/min * 60min/hr * 1mile/5280ft = 7.1Mph

MattH 11-22-2003 09:30 AM

I haven't done any "quarter mile" runs, but my XMODS has been clocked on radar at 11.2 mph in stock for form.

viperkilla 11-22-2003 09:34 AM

Where'd you get the radar gun?

4G63T 11-22-2003 11:11 AM

i think he has one of those that cops have.

RedRSX 11-22-2003 02:03 PM

If the algebra is saying that it goes 7.1mph then how come when I set my treadmill to 15mph my car has no problem going faster???

cdog4w 11-22-2003 06:27 PM

No idea. I don't see any mistakes in the math, its just unit conversion really. Also remember that the drag time is from a stop and the 7mph is not your top speed, but your avg. over 50 ft.

Jamezracer 11-22-2003 10:39 PM

Just tested with my friends rsx, mods include awd and light kit everything else stock.

avg time was 4.4 sec and best was 4.35

I was very surprized to find these cars so consistent.

NOTES: this was run on a slight incline but I ran it both up and down to get an average. Did not seem to make a difference in time though.
This was run on a freshly paved asphalt road, so it was only slighty bumpy.

Hope to see a stage 10 time!

SuperFly 11-23-2003 02:58 AM

I think RedRSX is right, you don't scale time. So your 4.X times are exactly that for 1/4 mile time. And it makes sense to me because Xmods look like they are going faster than their 1:1 counterparts would (11mph = over 300mph!).
