soften the tires by soaking them in WD40 for a while

You should try the tire upgrade kit to increase traction.

SuperFly 11-18-2003 04:29 PM

Get the tire upgrade kit and put the soft tires on the rear. Leave the medium stock tires on the front and see how that goes. I race on a fairly slick surface, and I hve to mop the hell out of it to remove any dust. I usually get a crappy towel really damp (like get it wet and wring it out) and then wrap it around the head of a pushbroom. Cleaning the floor makes a bigger difference than the tires, but the soft tires in the tire upgrade do work.

ok, the floor is pretty dirty so that could help. the next upgrad i am going to get is the awd so i am not going to ge the tires. what if i just soak the rear tires in wd40? does that realy make a big difference ?

soften the rear suspension by one step, it may help

aero528 11-18-2003 06:58 PM

ok sounds good.

try spraying them with a little bit of Prestone Brake Cleaner. that makes a big difference

Se7en 11-19-2003 10:35 AM

swiffer sweeper!

I use one before every run. You'd be amazed how much dust and hair is still there after sweeping with a normal broom.

also try the soft treaded tires

Amen to that!

Instead of WD-40, Brake Cleaner, or anything else, try Sunscreen! (Seriously!)

You might want to look at grooved or patterened tyres , as opposed to slicks, especially if your surface is naturally dusty/hard to clean. I know there are lots available for the Mini-Z & Mini-x, so I presume you can try these on your xmod....

I like what the soft treaded tires do for my car, but in sharp turns, the tires literally come off the rims and then jam up in the wheel well. I may have to go with the hards, which are less malleable and won't peel off the rims in sharp turns.

aero528 11-19-2003 03:00 PM

ok i will try some of the ideas. thanks alot guys.
