are the mini-x bearings dry?

Was reading the XMODS forum (http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread....5&pagenumber=1) and caught part of the discussion on dry bearings vs. greased or oiled. Anyone know what the bearings that come with the Mini-X are? (having bought it here)

I read the linked forum post from mini-zracer.com which concluded that dry were the best bearings, but I was wondering if anyone knew the mechanics of why?

Thanks.

i think the bearings for the mini-x are oiled

i think they say dry are the best cause they are the fastest, since they have the lowest resistance. i went with the sealed so i dont have to clean them

the only bearings that should be run dry are ceramic, all metal bearings have to be oiled otherwise you are running metal with metal with no lubrication, premature failure of the bearing will occur.
also, the bearing only appears to spin better off load, what do you think hapens to a bearing when its metal surfaces are rubbing against each other under load without oil..they actually create more drag than an oiled bearing,so please use a good quality thin oil,not wd40 as it evaporates eventually and leaves the bearing dry.

so if the x bearings are oiled, how and how often should you oil them? (and is anyone sure that they're of the oiled variety?)
