What Lube are you using
All right my car is squealing so bad its ridiculous and its slowing me down I haven't put any lube on the gears because im scared it may mess something up like attract more dirt etc. So what is the best kind to use? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Jason |
Precision Oiler with PTFE $2.99 at RS
Had it 2 days. Claims it won't attract dust or particles. So far, I like it. Seems to wear off sooner than the thick gunk, but when running it outside, I'd rather use this. Non-conductive.

i might have to get me some of that......i was runing my supra in front of my friends house and in the middle of a drift i lost control and my car spun out into a lil sand pit in front of a drive way.....needless to say when it spun in i still had the accelerator on and it spun sand all up on the inside
i think the sand soaked up all the lube cuz the rear tires are running kinda "sticky" lets say.....w/e the word is its not running smoothly.....think i need to clean everything out and re-lube it compressed air anyone? |
When I go to office depot or staples I am going to buy some of that canned air. Does anyone have this? Does it work well?
|
viperkilla the only warning I remember about the air is that sense its pushing out air it can push more dirt into smaller cracks and cause futher damage if that makes sense I read that about the zip zaps but im sure its safe on some parts of the car.

HaHa Viper thats exactly what I use. I got that little ZipZaps Xmen tool it has a little blue light and a brush. I also use a boot brush of course one that hasnt been used with pollish but they are very soft and knock alot of the dirt off then I go in with my zipzap tool.

I use a PTFE based lubricant in my ball bearings. A very small amount of light grease elsewhere. These things don't require alot of lube, you can actually gum things up worse by overdoing it.
