Xmod casualty

So tonight I was running the RSX in a not-that-busy parking lot, and had an encounter with a full scale car. Guess who won...

Actually , the damage isn't all that severe, with the exception of the body.
The top plate across the rear suspension is broken, and the lower control arm on one side. The car actually still runs, believe it or not, although my differential now slips a bit.

This one now becomes a parts car, as well as a test bed for electronics mods...

OMG...I would be sick. I feel your pain and it ain't even mine. And to that nice paint job too.

Sorry that happened.

neurokinetik 10-30-2003 10:05 PM

I'm more upset about the time involved in painting it than anything else. Ugh. I have to redo that masking job again...

you could probably get a allwheel drive kit to replace the suspension arm and the broken plate isnt that important so you could have 2 chassies working perfect if you bought a new kit. (working perfect not looking perfect)

Poor car. But on the bright side it could have been worse. You going with a different color or sticking to that blue?

Savior*insider 10-30-2003 10:29 PM

lol it still runs? durable durable durable hehe. srry bout the body tho man, that sux.

corysmith 10-30-2003 10:29 PM

might try reflective paint, lol, sorry couldnt resist

seiyoun 10-30-2003 10:31 PM

what kind of car hit it? It would be ironic if it was a real rsx that hit it.

corysmith 10-30-2003 10:34 PM

well, i want a geo metro to hit mine, so the metro will get more damage....

I have an AWD kit (not installed) as well as a suspension kit (also not installed, and needd to replace the missing spring/damper) The only thing preventing this thing from running perfectly is that the bottom chassis is tweaked. I repaired the crack in it, but it is still bent and is causing the differential to slip.

Since I still have all the spare body kit pieces in blue, the next one will be blue as well. Actually, the rear bumper is cracked, but not that bad. I'll probably glue it and keep it. The sideskirts are destroyed (well, one is missing, too. ) and the front bumper is ok except for the splitter on the one side, which I could easily fabricate.

It was run over by a Malibu. Both front and rear tires got it. Since I was going in the same direction as the car, it ran me over from behind, and really only did damage to the rear of the car.
