worth getting?

hey guys i was just skimming through the X-Mod forum and all i see is people having problems with these so is this worth getting? if so how is the steering is it fully propo? is the accel propo too? i might go shopping tomorrow night so i may get suckered into geting one

Murcielago659 10-23-2003 11:06 PM

I for one haven't had any serious problems, so yes they're worth getting. For every one problem you see here there's probably 20 or more good ones.

I've had mine for several days now, and I haven't had any problems with it that I couldn't fix. It's an awsomce RC and for the amount of stuff you can do to it, you really can't beat the $50 price tag.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

Just cause i work at radioshack, im not saying these are that great, they are a lot of fun, i have about all the buyable add ons u can have, anyone got ideas on what u can do to make it faster without stuff from xmods?

i just have one thing to say. people dont need help when it works right. people arnt going to be like ohh hey guys my car runs awesome and i dont have a single problem but i just wanted to be a post hog. anyways yes they are awesome i really enjoy mine and have not had a problem yet.

corysmith 10-24-2003 07:35 AM

exactly!

hit nail on head

slugbugg 10-24-2003 08:22 AM

They are fun and they are worth it.They are not as refined in the TX/RX area but it does work very good just the same.
I havnt seen any trend in these cars that would point to a serious defect yet.

corysmith,
The things I'm looking at for increasing speed is making it lighter, finding a GOOD motor for it and increase batteries to 6 cell (I hope it can handle the batts)

I am still drawing on my chassis and it is almost done, just a few more things to do on it then I can cut it.(I hope it all fits together)

how are these compared to the mini-z's arn't mini-z's the same price?

slugbugg 10-24-2003 11:11 AM

I dont have a mini-z(strange) but these are priced way lower than a mini-z.

Murcielago659 10-24-2003 11:13 AM

There's already a few posts comparing these to mini-z's.

I have six of these, and I haven't had any problems with any of them. I've only had one small issue on one car with the axle pins being a little longer than the depth of the plastic nuts, but I bought aluminum locknuts with an open end to take care of that.

dragon4450 10-24-2003 11:38 AM

yah seriously man they are more then worth the $50 for them so i would seriously look into one.

bc,
how are those locking nuts working for you?

My three year old mini-z recently died (bad receiver board I think) so I was looking for a car to replace it. The XMODS cars have been better than I have expected so far. The steering is not as good as a stock mini-z (though still pretty good) but the suspension is better than a stock mini-z. I have not had a problem with either one of the two that I have so far. The only minor compalint I have is that you have to readjust the trim each time after you turn off the car. If your car does not track straight out of the box this is a minor issue. Overall an excellent car for the price.

VuN86 10-24-2003 10:51 PM

thanks guys i guess i'm gonna have to stop by radioshack tomorrow i hope they have some

Murcielago659 10-24-2003 11:56 PM

Don't worry about not finding one. Every Shack I've been to has had them.
