Rare Earth Magnets?

can you swap the stock bit magnet with a rare earth magnet, if it is the same size? and will it provide better performance?
thank you in advance!

In the steering or motor?

steering.

Well, then yes it may increase steering speed, but that may or may not help your performance, the quicker steering may make it harder to drive.

have you or anyone else tried it?
thank`s

I haven't tried it on the steering, but I have on the motor - +++torque!

earth magnet mod tried

I tried this mod from an RS earth magnet. It seems that the steering wants to stick to one side. If I go right, and let up, it slightly curves to the right instead of straight. Same thing when pushing left.

I tried using only one magnet instead of the two. Wasn't enough magnetism to pull the wheels.

Not sure how this works...but for me, I had kinda bad luck.

well as far as i know the magnet in the steering of bits is a ceramic magnet, which is very very strong already. though a rare earth magnet could be stronger, it would be pointless if not more of a problem with more magnetic debris sticking to it.
