Just curious-how hard is it to re-wind an XMOD motor? I understand the theory and how to do it, but how many turns (and of what wire) should I go for?

And is there a way to get the pinion off?

well the only thing i can help with is the pinion. what you need to do is get a pinion puller from a hobby shop that deals with slot cars. the motors are about the same way in slot cars with the pressed pinion on them.
