Mustang GT Concept SE Convertable Project
1 Attachment(s)
Most of you have already seen me start this in another thread. I decided to post my progress here. I started out with the Mustang GT Concept SE body and removed the roof except for the middle piece behind the seats. I then lowered that below the windshield. I also covered the rear deck lid with styrene and filled the cracks with putty.
Here is what I'm trying to relicate... |

Here is where I am at now. I still need to do some body work and clean up some edges. I plan on painting it red like the original pic with the red interior and all the details. If possible, I'm gonna reinstall the LED's and just run them off of a watch type battery mounted under the rear deck lid.

oh yeah, looking dead sexy!

That is one sweet mustang bad company. I am gonna go pick myself a mustang SE and make it a convertible.

Hey BC , are you interested in making a mold for that
custom Mustang ?? Let me Know . |

Yeah , BC we can work something out . If trust is an issue ,
I will gladly buy the body from you . Then you can refund the money on delivery of mold and/ or resin bodies . This will be a challenge as I've only done one converitble mold to date . Right now I have eight working molds , and two molds in re-contruction phase . I can send pix of some of my cast . I"ve acquired a few prototype bodies , that I am presently working on also . |

denden, we'll work something out.
Well, I made a minor alteration to the rear deck lid to match the countour on the real thing. I also masked and started painting it. I will paint the little bar black and silver just like the real one, and try to match the interior too. Here is the base coat... |
I think it looks phenominal !!
|
Thanks. I just finished with the clear coat. I pulled the masking off of the window, front grill, rear lights, gas cap, etc. and it looks amazing. I must say this is by far my best work yet so far. Hopefully, I won't screw up painting the rest of the details.

the bodywork on my svanna and my Bb looks like a three year old did them compared to that work of art. man it is so detailed and you kept the shape just right.
|
Thanks. I am referencing pics off of www.stangnet.com, and trying to replicate the real deal as much as possible, right down to the interior colors. I am almost finished, just have a couple of details to add. This has been one of my favorite projects.

Wow, Bad Company I can tell that is going to come out great. Keep us updated.
|
Looking good! I've put a couple of convertable bodies onto the SE chassis, but couldn't figure out how to keep the LEDs. The connector just sticks up to far. I'm interested in seeing how you pull that off. Great stuff as usual!
