"Magnet Battle Field" coming in August
http://www.konami.co.jp/th/micro_ir/...eup/index.html
No picture up yet, but this has me mighty intrigued! I remember some time ago it was discovered that driving your CombatQ over a magnet would make it react as though it was 'hit' by a regular shot. But driving over a magnet was deemed possibly damaging to the CombatQ. Would be funny if the 'Magnet Battle Field' was indeed a bunch of magnets and that magnets weren't harmful after all. |
I wonder if they put that magnet thing on on purpose or if they found out after the release and decided they could make money off it.

Now you can make your own
It looks like a piece of peg board, some dowels, small magnets, and a piece of vinyl table cloth.
You could probably do a better job than they did! |
hmm... 24.72 USD for nine 1ft square boards, pegs, and magnets.
For $25 I could easily make more tiles, buy a better looking ground to fit different environments i.e. snow, grass, dessert. Just by airbrushing and attaching sand and other particles to a old blanket. Then Buy a couple wood dowels and cut them into pegs with several heights. The only problem might be finding magnets weak enough that they don't hurt the tanks. $25 is not bad at all, but I like making my own for a personal touch. BTW... what 'problems' did the magnets cause? |
Save your money
we tried these out, they are not so great at all. The cloth-paper cover is very hard to get the folds out of so the tanks flip over quite often. Also the surface seems to cause thrown treads quite frequently. The posts used to make hills are very hard to set for gradual slopes so there is often not much support for a hill, this leads to more thrown treads and flips. All in all I'd say save your money for a rotating turret tank.

BTW, the magnets are just that. Plain old magnets. No actual damage occurs in a fight but the "damage dance" slows you down. Driving over one is quite chancey as to whether or not you will get "hit". Overall not a really fun feature, more of an annoyance after the novelty wears off.

So they are Land Mines?
What if I used one of my neo Magnets? for Z motor hahahah ;) |
