Wheels that work as Zip hubcap replacements.

I found these in a small diecast model kit at Wal Mart. I don't have the box, I accidently threw it out, but I will be going back for more and to get different styles now that I know they work. Once you mod these hubcaps, they are the exact size and a direct replacement for the OEM hubcaps. And you can change them out just the same. No need for modding your knuckles and axles. Just swap out the hubcaps.

This is how the wheels come out of the box...

All I did was cut the hub off of the rear and drill out the center hole with a 7/64" bit. This way they fit tight enough on the original Zip wheel assembly to not come off, but loose enough that they can be taken off and switched out. They are exactly the same size as the Zip hubcaps.

I will be going back today to get some of the other style wheels. I will post a pic of the box. I believe they were around $3 for the entire 1/43 model kit.

Edit: My receipt showed a wopping $2.88!

I have tried installing all of the wheels with success. The only hitch is the smooth ones on the far right are a smaller diameter than the others. They still fit, but there is a little gap between the wheel and tire.
