got new bit and controller has no red leds that woirk
 

just got it from hong kong and i get no function.put batteries in and nothing..it seems easy enough to fix my self ..can any one offer any help at all?thanks

catman25, have you tried different batteries (maybe dead)? And, though the light doesn't come on, if you put the car on does it appear to charge? If it's brand new, then I would return it.

maybe the wires connecting to the batteries came loose?

it was new but from hong kong ..so returning isnt really a option ..im gonna resoldier the wires and hopwe it works.so any other suggestions???by the way its a 02 mhrz or 35 i think thanks ..

Are you seeing any voltage from the charge terminals when you switch it on? Should see about 3 volts if my memory is correct before it charge a car.

Else I think Quest for madness has the circuirty diagram. Except for the TX2 chip the rest of the parts should be stock and may be avaiable.

Uh oh - when you say it's "02" - is it a TOMY, or a clone?

its a lxx charge ..ratest the best clone..lol...new update ...the batteries wernt touching the terminal so i added a lil tin foil and now when i put the on button to on ,on the controller i get no led.but when i put the bit on the charger the charger light comes on ???any ideas..besides buy a tomy??

After charging and you push one of the control buttons what happens?

On my MicroQ I only get a led for charging and when I push F/R or L/R else no led glow.

let me try ..ill charge it for what 50 sec.??then ill take it off ..the controller has to be on right .,..lol./..then ill test it ..hang onthe light stayed on for more than 55 sec.am i sposed to count??and the bit did $hit..lol...wonder if batt. is bad :rolleyes:

how can i discharge this motor???my other bit is a hot wheels one and batt. cant come out

Does the other led come on when you have the car off of charge and put a control button?

Note that basically there are two sides to a Controller-Transmitter The charage and the RF { signal sending side } One can work and the other can fail.

Do you have a friend with a controller using the same freq? Can he controll your car?

Ok if you want to do this at your own risk and could, may, whatever fry any warrenty you have, you could try the following. IE your on your own! :)

Use a screwdriver to open the case and inspect the board for any cracks, cold solder joints, no solder joints, shorted solder connections. It usualy a single sided pc board. Best to use a mag lamp but if your eyes are young you can usualy see if something is wrong. There are many pictures of both side of the transmiter board that you could use as a reference. You will need a small prob like a screwdriver or better yet somthing plastic that you can tap, move, shift whaterver a solder joint. You do this unpowered.

What you are looking for:
A blob of solder like a round ball.
A blob of solder linking two point that should not be connected.
A patch of copper with a wire sticking up through it minus solder.
A part that when tug slightly come loose. But looks connected.
Cracked or broken part.
On the foil non-componet side there is a crack. Hold to light.
Missing parts.

If you have experence with a voltmeter or better a Oscope grab a copy of the circuit diagram. Start at the TX2 IC. Its the only IC there. See if its getting voltage. There is a transmit signal pin that I think keys the osc. See if it changes state. If not, then suspect the TX2 chip. If its changing state. Then go after the osc. Then the Buffer-Driver. If you have a Field strength meter do you see anything being transmited. Or a receiver that can receive that frequency do you hear anything when you push the buttons?
