Charged or Uncharged?
this has probabely been brought up before but i want to know how most people store their Zips..charged or uncharged?
i have several and i drain the batteries before puting them up..is this bad? just wondering;) |
I always drain the charge before putting away
|
well ni-cads and ni-mh batteries "leak" anyway so even if u keep it charged when u put it away, it'll lose that charge in a few days or so. i say you might as well play it til it barely moves and store it
|
Also, since the receiver in the car is always on, the battery would eventually drain anyway.
|
Even if you leave the battery at full charge, it's gonna go flat.
The car's recciever is always on as long as there's enough charge to do anything, so it'll drain a battery in the chassis down to nothing. It the battery is outside, the charge will slowly dissapate and go flat. |
What they said. ;)
FYI: If you could disconnect the battery from the RC receiver, a fully charged nicad will self-discharge in about 60 days. |
yea i do the same i usally use up all the juice before i put it away
|
good, so i'm not the only one.....i don't know where i got the idea it was bad:confused: :)
|
I always discharge my zz, just think its better. I've been tempted not to a few times when I've peak charged and got over 30 min. runtimes though.
|
hi
how do u peak charge and what is it
|
*cough*
http://www.verinet.com/~dlc/battery.htm *cough* It's aimed mostly at Ni-Cad battery packs, instead of single cells; but, what's true for one, is true for them all. |
thanks for the info guys
