The first thing I did was put the body on the chasis I modded for my Yenko Camaro. What do you think?

I want to do another wheel mod specifically for the black Civic. Which wheels look better? These?...

those are insane! how are you going to mount the electronics into the custom chassis? very nice! i like the 2nd wheels for a black civic btw. i think the first ones are more of a muscle car sort of rim.

ps - until i find out my hours, ill have to see whether or not i work on july 4 or not. ill see if i can come into work another day so when you come to va beach we can hook up. my cars need style, ill help you with performance to make it even faster than it looks:D

I will actually remove the wheels from that chassis and mount them to the Zip axle and knuckles like I did with the Yenko Camaro wheels. The wheels on the chassis are actually from a DUB 1/64 car. You can't see it in the pic, but the black wheels have disc brakes behind them.

Flatlander: No prob. I will be down there all weekend, so we will work something out. If you have something in mind you would like me to do, you can tell me ahead of time, and I can have it when I come down.

How do you mount them on the ZZ axle?

viperkilla 06-03-2003 03:15 PM

how'd you get your black civic....ive always wanted one....i like the first set of tires......by the way NICE rims

My wife knows someone at RS that can get older models.

As for mounting the wheels. I remove them from whatever car they were on. Then carefully twist off the front wheel pins from the knuckles. Next carefully hand drill holes in the front wheels. Then reinsert the wheel pins through the new front wheels. It should still be nice and tight fit.

For the rear wheels, I twist off the existing Zip wheels fron the axle, but leave the gear. Carefully drill holes in the new wheels the exact diameter of the axle. Put a drop of super glue on the end of the axle and press fit the new wheel all the way up to the gear. (You may have to shave some of the rear of the wheel first.)

On the other side, slide a piece of Q-Tip stick over the axle.(Mine was 1/8" long, but may vary on wheels.) Now put the glue on the axle and press the wheel on. Adjust how far the wheel sets equal to the other side. Cut the Q-Tip to fit between the wheel and the notch in the chassis.

Here is a pic of the black wheels with the disc brakes behind them. The next step will be to drop the car.

Hey would you be interested in selling those Yenko Camaro wheels and tires to me? I bought some like it and screwed em up.. they would be hella nice if they are solid and not "wiggley" like mine were..

Ahh5hit, those are Muscle Machine Import Tuner wheels right?
How does the car drive with them?
I did the same mod to one of my Bits, but now the car won't go straight. And I don't mean veering to the left or right, more like a shopping cart with a bad wheel.

Did I do something wrong?
Would you show a pic how you mounted the fronts?
