S2k convertible **PICS**
1 Attachment(s)
hey all, been awhile since i posted, but ive been grounded for the past few weeks by my parents:( . during that time sitting up in my room,i decided to mess with all my tinyrc things, and viola, here is what i did.the car was a trashed s2k,the body was cracked, the paintjob attempt was a complete failure.bought it for a dollar and went to work on it,first i sanded down that crappy blue paint on it to make it smooth for painting.then, with the crack repaired and a little bondo to smooth out the crack line,i went to work on the roof.the roof had a big hole in it so that the previous owner could put his antenna through.i got the crazy idea that there was no convertibles out there to my knowledge,so i went to work removing the roof.the local toys r us had these little metal cars for about three dollars and came with a wing on the back and an interior including two "sparco racing seats".i used those and addd them to the car for that realistic look. with the entire pcb board modded and the cars frame redone (thats where things got a little tricky),the s2k was done.im looking to have the body painted by someone who is good at it (maybe superimport2nr).when im done,i will post finished results.

car would look really nice if u gave it another paint job and sanded around the edges :D
nice seats though  |
You could probably add some paint on it. But I like your rims.
|
AWSOME! Where did u get the seats and how did u put em on, they look lower than the PCB!
|
shanly i seem to remember you as a flamer... but friggin SWEET job! those seats look REALLY good, and lots of people made convertables, but never with seats, so it looked funny.. this looks great man... good work...
whole new look for the convertable cars now :D |
THATS PRETTY SLICK!!!! instead though you should add the WHOLE interior that way you dont see the heat sink and it would look alot more clean especially with the steering wheel and shift knob etc.
|
workin on the rear seats an dash with steering wheel as we speak.and like i said,im not much of a painter,so im hoping that maybe superimport2nr would be up to the job...i dunno if he even posts in these boards anymore.also being added is a set of nak rims,a lovely chrome exhaust tip and hopefully soon some paint.also,i plan on heating the front bumper's lips and bending them a little to give it more of a aggresive look.thanks for your input guys!i would still like to see what more people think tho:D ,laterz!
|
oh and the pcb is low cuz theres no battery under it.i replaced the battery with REALLY tiny rechargeble 3 volt cells...believe it or not, located under the hood!and with the help of my uncle, those annoying big resistor things on the board were replaced with smaller, more compact resistors,ALOT of hard work went into this
|
hey shanly, that is probably the best covertable i've seen in these forums. By the way, can you tell us what brand of toy car you got the seats from?
|
bummer,i really cant, got the car months ago for about 3 dollars,i will go back to toys r us and look for them again, they are metal, and they got a yellow civic,a ford a skyline and some others, they come with a trading card im em,maybe someone will know what these are called?
thanks for the compliment LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO PAINT |
MUSCLE MASHINES!!!import series! now i remember cuz the wing on the s2k also came on the metal car,and i blakced out where it said muscle machines on the wing....
