Suspension Springs problem
i installed the suspension springs on my bit. I cut the springs down (used the tomy springs from QFM). Now the steering isnt working like it used to. The wheels dont turn left and right when I hold it up, but i know the connections are fine becuase i can steer it while driving, but it doesnt go straight at all. Has anyone had this problem, or know how to fix it?

This usually happens when the springs are applying too much tension to the steering knuckle. This causes the knuckle to become very stiff when trying to turn and therefore killing the steering action.
Before mounting your steering assembly back in place make sure the springs are sitting like this. http://www.prahranpianos.com/bit_g/springs_step_6.JPG Notice that the springs sit below the ends of the steering knuckles. This way when the assembly is put back together there is no excess tension on the knuckles. These springs are custom made by myself and are available for sale in this thread HERE . ph2t. |
