My new mods and traction problems.
 

After realizing that I sold my PS2 and I was about to be home for a long time after knee surgery. I realized I needed something to kill time (not being a big television fan).

So I dug into some boxes and pulled out my automod set I bought back in december. I grew tired of them quickly so I figured I'd go check into some mods for some on the couch fun.

Realizing things have a come a long way I did a lil research on this site and went and grabbed the Perfection motor, Rare earth magnets, coil springs, and a fancy shmancy Nickel metal hydrive 150 mah battery.

Plugged in a ll my mods and here is my review:

Perfection motor: Pretty quick, def. faster than stock 2.2
Magnets: No difference, waste.
Coil springs: No difference, waste.
Battery: Ran for a long time the first time I used it (2 charges) but now it seems to just go dead faster. (whahts the max charging time?)

And when I drive it on my linoleum or other hard surface my car would veer hard in one direction and barely turn left but it would do donuts if I touched the right button, Uncontrollable. (trim was all the way the other way to minimize but no help)

So I noticed my locked differential (lol) was no longer locked so I ordered one of those. Fixed things a lot better but it still barely turnsleft but donuts right very easy. Is this normal or do I need to replace a broken part or will different tires help this or what?

but my car has the exact problem. cant turn left but donuts to the right all the time. my MS pro has that. my MS sport has that. my MEGATOYS has that. my PANTHER doesnt

Yes by differential I hoped you guys would understand that both wheels would no longer spin at the same time on the axle, just the one wheel with the gear. SO I ordered the axle set and it helped a little but crap its still barely controllable. remedy to this/

You have to forgive them for not knowing what a Diff. is :) They aren't all car people, mainly just nerds who sit around playing with little R/Cs (:p)

Just kidding, but yea, I have the same problem with my twin cell Skyline, not sure how to fix it.

i was hoping he was talking about a REAL differential.. (on a bit? hehe suuuure) but yeah... crazy glue works just fine for getting an axle stuck together...

hog mentioned this b4, but it's true.. TOMY uses crap glue for the wheels and axles... =(

so we all have this problem...
i think it is the steering spring, one way the spring is strong so you cant turn tight. the other way the spring is weak so you turn tight. all theory havent tested it out, maybe i will switch my steering spring around to see if the the turning difference is oppisite, maybe one of you should too.

i think diel steering spring should help that i havnt tried it yet i dont know if a single cell can turn duel steering springs

ive posted this on this forum at least 20 times. glue the non drive wheel onto the axle. i suggest jbweld since it dries so rigid. or you can play with your spring and totally hose the steering.

thats for the steering problem? do you take the wheel off the axle to glue or just glue the outside? i have noticed that my bit has both those problems and just thought they could be connected.
btw i think my steering spring is hosed anyway so it wouldnt matter

yes thats the steering problem 90% of the time. the right(non drive) wheel is loose. all the power is put into the drive wheel and none on the non drive wheel causing it to turn to the right. the spring should never be hosed if its not messed with.

it has been messed with, and it came with the spring saver mod already done to it well i will try and see

ya most clones have that thing melted so the spring dont fly but it still can get bent if you sneeze near it


this is to everyone else: its a lot easier to glue a wheel to an axle than to unscrew your steering only to lose something or break something.

hmmm well, i dun think it's the spring TOO bad, cuz i DID flip it over several times, as well as lose one and try a different one... so yeah, i think it's actually the drive axle..

BUT... after crazyglueing it a few months ago, the bit still isnt perfectly balanced. im almost certain it has to do with the weight distribution... the wires and all, as well as the motor and the gears are not going to give very even distrubution on either side

Well I ordered the axle set with brand new pre glued axles and the problem is a lil better but its still bad enough to tick me off.
