problem

i have a 350z zip zap and whenever i go backwards it keeps spinning in circles, ive check for malfunctions under the pcb but cant find to solve the problem. i might go to RS if i cant fix it myself but id rather know what im doing for the future. lately it starts spinning when i go fowards also. ive changed, gears, motors and wheels back to stock and same problem.

any suggestions are welcome and thnx for ur time

Jim

Did you try adjusting the little switch in between the front wheels?

yea the turning is much steeper than a simple adjustment will make, btw it usually rides straight going fowards, just going backwards it starts spinning like a maniac

it means the steering spring is too loose and cant hold the wheels straight...
u can either make your own out of thin wire..(search..there's a diy steering spring twisty wire howto thread)

or double up using another steering spring.(this works very well)

Sounds like you got a bad one. As stated, either the steering spring is loose or the PCB has a problem crossing the reverse circuit with the steering coils. Seems that if the spring were to blame, you'd get the same problem in forward as well. But, there may be a difference in the friction variable on the front wheels in either forward or reverse, so it could still be the spring. I'd take it back in either case.

you could try doing a rare earth magnet upgrade from rcmod.com
