are these the real deal

well I live down here in NZ and we so far havent got the "bit char-g" toys yet, but however I did find a site that sells them. Though not every seeing one in real life before I cant tell if these are the real "bi char-g" or clones, can anyone tell from this photo? http://www.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/72/848372_full.jpg

The Auto Modellista set from Bit Char G comes with 4 bodies and one chassis, if the picture you links means it only comes with that one car it is probably this:

LXX Clone

I have not owned one, but lots of people say good things about the LXX clones, so if it is a good price go for it.

That is the LXX Auto Modellista. I can tell by the sticker on the door, white antenna, and because it comes with the clear Skyline body. Not a bad clone if you can find a deal, but definately not up to par with bits.

I got lucky and got one with good steering, but the pinion was hacked, and the heat sink too flimsy to hold the motor down. Luckily I had the spare parts around, so once I replaced those it was fine, but if this was my only car I would have been screwed.

Also the PCB in the LXX doesn't seem to be putting out the power the Bit Char-G do.

IMO, I'd say the LXX is fine for a project car, but for your first car, do yourself a favor and get the real deal.

Since your from New Zealand, maybe you can find the Australian licensed version, the Compact-G, otherwise check out Toys East. They from China, but ship internationally.
