Steering Problems
 

I recently purchased an AutoModellista bcg set. With a r-spec motor, my car drifts to the right. Any ideas to correct this? I have tried adjusting the trim, but it is not enough to counter the torque.

Double spring or bend the spring. Check any hairs in the wheels.

What exactly do you mean by doubling or bending the spring? I have already cleared out all fibers from the front wheels.

Yeah, I have the same trouble. All of my cars pull a little either left or right. I am having a heck of a time getting them to go completely straight. How do you do the double spring thing?? What other tricks can I try?? *help* :)

well, usually cars will never go PERFECTLY straight... just cuz there's a lot of play involved in the steering mechanisms...

double steering springs WILL help, but will increase ur turning radius signigicantly... i've just learned to live with a slight curve in my bit's running...

...have u tried takin the steerin bar out,and movin the adjust.bar all the way 2 one side,put the steerin arm back, and then tryin 2 adjust from there...

look at your rear axle. do either of the wheels spin freely on the axle? if so theres your answer.

Yeah, my wheels spin freely... oh well, I'll just live with the curve..

go buy jbweld. a few drops on the axle will hold it solid. you will thank me.


jbweld can be purchased at homedepot or any hardware store for 3 or 4 bucks.

superglue might work in the meantime.

Well, I guess that is to be expected. It's not like they're highly calibrated and precision tuned machines. ;) I have been taking little super fine hair-like strands of copper wire and looping them though the steering arm bracket to take up the extra room, thus, tightening it up a little. It seems to be working. It does not restrict the movement at all, but just makes the "slop" movement less noticable.

My char-g also turns right a lot sharper than left? Any ways to correct this? How did yall get those icon things at the bottom of ur posts? I'm new to this forum thing...

After about 20 or so posts, you go to your user-cp and use the "change avatar" option to put a picture there. It'll only let you do that after a certain amount of posts (I think 20), though.

Do you mean like those lil pics that have like r-spec or something on it like this?
