Removing Enamel Wire Coating

Dont use a lighter, as in the DIY steering coil guide, but instead-

put some solder on a soldering iron and hold the end of the wire in the molten solder for a few seconds,

this will coat the ends very nicely, without stripping away too much insulation, as the lighter does!!!!!

This will minimise the chances of Short circuits!

Thankyou!

Yeah I tried a lighter, and it sizzled all the way up to the pcb , just like a fuse on a fire cracker.

I just scrape the end with an Exacto knife, then tin the end. Works perfectly. I did a steering coil transplant over the last week, and I was mending broken steering wires for 2 days straight. I've gotton quite good at it.

i use my friends solder sucker. its basicly a hollow soldering iron that is hooked up to a pump. its so fun to watch a big blob of solder disappear.
