I'm working on building a stand alone charger and I was wondering if I could just hook the the wires from the charger directly to the batteries?

Im not sure that may work, but i would just get the battery pack, its much easier.

yes you can, you just really have to watch the time on the charger so you dont melt the batts.

Do you mean on the controller? That's what I did, I'll try and post the website later but just make sure you don't switch the positive and negative messed up.
