Thanks, is there any way I can modify the controller to take 8 AA batteries because I already bought some.

The slot for the 9 volt is much shorter. Just buy a 9 volt. 2 packs are like $6. And then you can have all your AA for bits and for charging on the road.

You need 9volts to power the transmitter. Anything less will DRAMATICALLY reduce your range.

The link you supplies is for 8AA. There is NO WAY it would fit in a stock Epoch remote. See for your self: place two AA cells end to end.......are they longer than a 9v? Just a little, don't you think! :)
