New PCE Mod video available
Hey everyone.
I've posted some new video of my PCE (Proportional Controller Eemulator) in my Bitscience thread here Download the 640K AVI (divx) here Download another video (divx)here I'd be interested with any feedback. I also need a bit of help. If anyone has any old RC controllers with the POTs on them they would wish to donate to the cause, it would be great if I could get the assembly and pot controller parts. It would be really appreciated. thanks, ph2t. |
shweet!
|
Very schweet :)
I'll roshambo you for that controller :) |
sorry to sound thick...
what does roshambo mean? ph2t. |
you take turns kicking each other in the nuts, last one to fall wins
|
hmm btw is it just proportional acceleration or acceleration and turning cuz i dont think you can make proportional turning
|
no you cant make propo steering on a bit because it is magnets rite? so either it goes all the way to the rite, or all the way to the left.......unless im mistaken
|
yea that's why i think you cant make it but you can send pulses thru the magnets...wont be proportionally..more like retarded lol
|
Kill the non-believers!
Guys,
read the thread . I'm doing BOTH, steering and acceleration. It's the same principal for both, the pulses sent to the steering coils can vary in width, this then dictates the sharpness of the turn. Think about it, what is steering? It is nothing without direction, you can't steer a car on the spot, it needs to be moving. So if I can vary the pulses sent to the magnets AS THE CAR IS MOVING, I can change how sharp the turn will be. Note that this mod is an EMULATOR of proportional control, not the true thing. ;) ph2t. |
hmm well unless your sending 2 different pulses to the car, one for speed and one for steering. then its technically not propo. you see the steering must be pusled at different rates from the speed or else it is affecting the speed. therefore you car has either propo steering or propo speed...you choose... sorry for not reading you thread first.... my bad ( then again who elses would it be???)
|
There is only one part of the circuit detailed in the original thread. I have to dupe the whole thing for steering. One circuit will run at a high frequency (this is the motor speed), the other circuit will run at the lower speed (approx 10Hz). The beauty of this mod is that it requires ZERO modification to your car. I still don't see how one could effect the other though.
ph2t. |
sorry i thought that the controller was just one frequency... my bad
|
no sweats dude, the schematic only shows one half of the setup anyways.....
;) ph2t. |
could you plz post the other half the proportional speed controller
plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!! I was gonna start makin one:( |
Modjo,
let me update the current schematic with the new values for the resistors, etc..... The other half of the controller is effectively a duplicate of what you see. The only change is the frequency that the circuit operates at. I'll try and do some diagrams tonight to help you understand the "bigger picture" (I'm at work at the 'mo) Cheers, ph2t. |

despite some poor mindless demotivating comments I think you just made a very good work; I'll try to build your circuit next week end. Keep in touch through ausmicro and go on with the good work. Even the motor emulation only will change forever our driving style with bit char g. Thank you ;) Efarel |
Hey Efarel, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate respectful feedback always......
See you on ausmicro! :D ph2t. |
