I think it looks Badass - 4.5

chelboed 03-02-2003 03:14 PM

Nod bad.(3-4 maybe) You have to do some REAL body work mods for a 4-5 on looks. How does it run, though? Is it all show and no go? I can't even use a single cell car anymore. I've spoiled myself on tri-mods. Please tell me at the very least, you have a Layman 2 under there.

got BITS? 03-02-2003 03:15 PM

6- When I get my black skyline body I think I'm gonna do somthin like that to it exept lime green. How did you tint the windows/headlights?

got BITS? 03-02-2003 03:17 PM

BTW: I wounder what the difference between an American Pie & a Canadian Pie are? lol

strakka 03-02-2003 03:22 PM

ok pie ive just gotta go with the 0 i mean its soo good that 0 is the only place worthy of it. at first i was thinking of a negitive # but whats worse than that your discription of 0???? jki think its a 5 just cuz my favorite car it a skyline:confused:

isk8blind 03-02-2003 03:50 PM

Canadian Bit 03-02-2003 03:53 PM

strakka 03-02-2003 03:56 PM

PS Canadian Pie is better

strakka 03-02-2003 04:06 PM

candian bit you got to enlargen that. i cant see what it is.....heres a better idea. why dont you just tell me!!!:D :D

Canadian Bit 03-02-2003 04:15 PM

It's the black part under the lights on the left.

nrmcj 03-02-2003 04:35 PM

thanks for the comments everyone!! chelboed, im gonna go but some putty and make a bodykit for it... and maybe some fender flares,... but then i gotta paint =\ it'll be done sooner or later :D

and heh, it's my first bit, just under 2 months old, and it;s my baby... im hella scared to do anything serious to it, just the drop is how i like it... so it's still single cell =) (KIT 2.6, 7tooth gear, teal gears = all show, kinda.. sorta... go-ish)

I tinted the windows (inside) with a sharpie marker... it's really hard to get it to look good tho... note: go FAST or the new sharpie marks erase the old ones (old being 1-2 seconds old)...

and leave my dings alone! yeahhh i know.. the paint's fallin off and there's a huge chunk missing from the lip -_______-
im gonna make a diffuser from putty... later... sometime...

thanks everyone! wow, heh, did better than i expected ^_^

Canadian Bit 03-02-2003 04:37 PM

Sorry, I change my rating from 3.5 to 4.5.

any advice?

Pojo 03-02-2003 04:48 PM

Get some Nakamichi or silver Pullback rims!

cisco 03-02-2003 04:49 PM

How did you get the car so low?

nrmcj 03-02-2003 05:01 PM

nakamachis... or pullbacks... no problem! :D when swavey gets back, this bad boy gets white pullback rims..

tab cutting and reglueing.... you can find pix on page 70 of the alberta thread... (saying that felt good)

ohh that reminds me pojo... you got nakamachi rims rite? can i see a pic?

Pojo 03-02-2003 05:02 PM

im not all too sure how to do links.. so i'll just :bdrop: the pic rite here..

*note: no body modding involved.. my body's beaten up pretty bad, so i dun wanna mar it even worse...

cisco 03-02-2003 05:15 PM

I found what you are talking about. What did you use for to make the new tab?

nrmcj 03-02-2003 05:17 PM

well, a school ID card will do... any kind of plastic, really...

i found htat maybe a more flexible piece of plastic is more suitable.. oh, and if the surface is shiny, use sandpaper to roughen the glueing surface..

cisco 03-02-2003 05:18 PM

Thanks for the info. Did you make one for the back to?

denden 03-02-2003 05:19 PM

Definite 4 !!

nrmcj 03-02-2003 05:19 PM

no problem... for the back, no... mainly because the back tires will rub on the body, which slows the car down... and the celica body isnt quite wide enuf...
oh, and another note... you may have to sand a little on the inside of the body, cuz there's a chance lowering the front will pull the body down just enough to rub it..

*Edit: thanks denden!

American Teens stick their ****s in their pies? :D

... I watch too much American TV

I give the car a 4.5 looks very nice and very ricey.

thats soooo jokes. lol heres what i suggest. cut a new slot for the back tab higher than the old one so that it lowers the back of the celica then do the small rear wheel mod so that its even lower now. you might want to and a pit of modeling putty around the back of the car. you know where you wheels are i find if you dont do this it makes the car look goofy

nrmcj 03-02-2003 05:57 PM

the grammer was really harsh on the comment.. but i got the main gist of it! yeah, i know what you mean.. but decreased wheel diameter = slower car... and i play with this thing every day :D so i want it to run pretty much as fast as it'll go...

thanks for the idea tho!

strakka 03-02-2003 06:47 PM

sorry for my lack of intelligence. you know kids these days. they're soo illiterate. need to get back in to books:D :D anyways i think you should go with adding putty on the bottom so that it looks really low rider

Squishy 03-02-2003 06:57 PM

hmm... I give it a 4.5. You gotta get those RACING SCARS (not just ordinary "dings":D :D :D ) cleaned up.

bloodyroots 03-02-2003 07:00 PM

5+ That's a sweet Celica. I'm thinking of doing a body kit for my Celica too. You should change the spoiler though, maybe a TRD spoiler. If you do change the spoiler please post PIC!!!

Fourustwentius 03-02-2003 07:19 PM

4.5 I like the see thru red!

Hey man, sorry to sound like I trashed your rig. I am just an ego-tistical-'Tim Allen'-wanna be who doesn't know when to stop when it comes to speed. Ya know, I always wanted to use a 1/10 scale gas motor and build it on a dremel. (I'm afflicted)

Your Celica is a great looking car. Those anal people out there who pick apart a ding here and there probably don't drive their cars, just sit there and look at it. (you can't tell me that they never hit a guard rail now and then) But hey, you asked and they answered.

To help you get a faster car, though... Check out the Layman 2 and 3 cell mod on this forum. It fits right smack in the same hole as your stock battery. Or if you don't want to crack open the mid section, I used to use a 3.8 with low gears in my 1 cell clone. You have to use lower gears with the low torque motors, because if not it takes forever to take off.

Either way, it looks better than my bits.

nrmcj 03-02-2003 10:57 PM

heh strakka it's all good.. and yeah! that's exactly what i plan to do when i get my other bits... this gonna be a pure show body once the whole thing scrapes the ground and those "racing scars" (heh thanks for the dignitiy squishy!!) are cleaned up.. maybe even a whole new paint job,,,, :D

bloodyroots, im thinkin skyline wing... cuz it's black and looks kinda sorta like the APR V-spec II.... (all you celica freaks will know what that is)...

thanks for all the positive comments!!!

and cheboed thanks!! :D heh, yeahhh, them show cars... :o :o droooll... soo nice.. shiny... smooooth paint! heh, i got an extra tomy battery from a KIT racer, so i might stick it in sometime... i got a 3.5 on order... so basically what im looking at is 3.5 + KIT racer dark blue gears... thanks!!!

Project RC 03-02-2003 11:53 PM

4, it looks nice. Good job. http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
