2 second scale 1/4 mile run video
 

Check out this VIDEO of my scale 1/4 mile run (20 feet 7 inches) with my 3 cell Zip Zap! On a treadmill, it's running about 7.8 mph. I don't want to be redundant, but I just wanted to show a video of it. It's hard to believe it can still go in a straight line. (pretty much)

Thats pretty quick! Sounds like a large car.

If you keep hitting the wall at that speed, I would think you steering will be off (soon). (I just keep replaying the video and liking the thump sound).

1. it's not really a large car, (about 1/4 longer than a bit, and the same width). It's 1/64 scale vs. the bit 1/70 scale

2. Yeah, I hate hitting the wall, I don't do it anymore. For the sake of getting a full scale 1/4 mile for the video, I let it hit the wall. The real ouch was that I tested the blue, green, and red gears in it 3 times each. It hit the wall 9 times total. Nothing's happened to it yet, but no more wall-hitting.

The motor I used is a different clone motor that's pink, but has the same-looking back end as the bit motors.

thats pretty damn fast. nice. now i got try a tripple cell.

Yah! I did some 3 cell bits, and I can't get them to go straight with the torque'ie motors for the entire 1/4. The Zip Zap is just the right size for me so far. Don't get me wrong, 1/70 3 cell cars are WAY fun, but for the straight 1/4 action, I have to use a Zap, or an extended Bit.

If I had a mac, I would just stuff it. JK, I like mac's, but would rather not use one for compatibilities sake.

thats cuz you only can run 3 programs for it. hehe. win2k hasnt crashed on me in a long time either. guess what i payed about 1/4 what you did.

I am using a Zap chassis and PCB, clone motor, 3x Tomy 50 mah cells, red Zap gears, and some slightly wider grippy clone drag slicks. I am going to do a Layman quad soon with a Zap chassis just so it will run straight. I am epoxy'ing some dual rear wheels as we speak. I may use a clone booster PCB in the Layman Quad though.
