ZZ Truck Phaze II

Well I've been working on this truck on and off for a month now and threw some paint on it to see what it looks like. I still need to do some body work and make a front bumper and tonto cover for the bed. All in all I think it's coming along pretty good.

It looks very good. I think you should add some final details though.

I plan on it. Doing the grill painting the head and tail lights maybe some running boards, ground effects ect....

dabigpig 02-20-2003 05:53 PM

nice job hope with the final details work out the way you want them too:)

Dutch 02-20-2003 06:02 PM

I figure it this way If I spent more time working on my projects instead of reading all the fourms here on Tinyrc I might get done faster. LOL

(Paint, Glue, Putty all take to long to dry):D

dabigpig 02-20-2003 06:07 PM

btw where did you get those tires?

nice truck man! you might use the "tonno" cover off the motorworks truck if u got one. but why not a ford man?? hehehe.

Stridex 02-20-2003 10:00 PM

Very jealous! You've got the wheel wells lined up PERFECTLY. Radio Shack couldn't have done any better. Especially after what I saw them do to the VW bug.

Suntzu28 02-21-2003 06:32 AM

I hope my Chevy Looks as good as yours Manana. Looking very good !

Personally making tonneau covers is best out of think stock (0.040" styrene) you can then paint it flat black and add silver details for the snap button heads. Also since it is styrene you could even heat bend it and toss in the normal support bars.

Why not a ford? Cuz most fords look kinda ugly, until the new f150 comes out (finally look like the 2002-2003 ranger, which is the best looking truck they have made. I just so happen to drive a 2002 Ranger Edge.

^^^^Note above is all personal opinion, do not take this as a chance to whine about GM vs Chevy^^^^

I dont want to start any ford chevy or mopar arguement either!! that leads to no where. any way I like the old style ford trucks. 1950-1979. like the 68 -78 chevy truck bods too. anybody know where I migt find an old ford truck body? its hard to find anything in alaska.:)

Suntzu28 02-21-2003 05:29 PM

Fordman.....

I thought i was the only one here! The weather makes for wonderful motivation to race INDOORS.

Dutch 02-21-2003 05:58 PM

No, No Chevy, Ford or Mopar war here, but I am a Chevy guy and when I saw these I had to try making one. I think the same company also sell's a 3 pack of Ford's. Next time I'm out shopping around I look and see what they have.

BTW It's plenty cold here here in Minnesota to :D

I'd really like to find a Toyota, but this one looked pretty nice. I pulled it off a pull-back 1:64 monster truck from Wall-Mart. I had to shorten the bed a bit to get the wheelbase right. It actually fit on my 3 cell Zip, but I just couldn't handle racing everyone with a pickup. I'll have to hack away the inside of the bed a little to fit it to a stock Zip.

Steve,

Thats the body I started with :-) I cut the fenders off the bed and notched the cab and fenders so I could get them to line up

Steve 02-23-2003 12:53 PM

How long did you try to figure out how to get a Zip PCB in the original pull-back truck? LOL...If I could only figure out the steering...
