If you look at the Sub controller, and the Tank controller, they look the same to me (besides the color). It look to me like you will be able to play submare warfare in your fishtank!!! -I hope :)

I speculate that the torpedos are released by remote, and a rubber band inside them powers them forward for a short distance. In that 3rd shot you can see that one torp is missing, and the one that is on there has a black, twisted rubber band down the middle, which probably spins the two props at the front in opposite directions. (cancelling torque spin - like a twin rotor helicopter)

I hope we can control the dive depth of the sub...

VERY COOL! where can I get them? how much will they cost? and, yeah, will you be able to control depth? if someone can please give me some details on these mini subs..........

There's no new information about release date, nor cost. But I can tell you, you can should definitely be able to control depth.

Although you guys don't know the exact date, can anyone out there tell me, about when can we expect these dive gear subs to be on market for sale? For instant like at ToyEast.com? After christmas? 2003? Any ideas anyone??

I think I figured out how the torpedoes are fired. The gear is spun, and the torpedo 'unlocked'. Well, look at the front of the torpedo; it basically has a propeller on it. If you spin it (via the gears on the back), the propeller will pull it forward. :)

I prefer Nikko's Sub-168's appearance over the DiverGear, but working torpedoes??? I think I should invest in a stopper/plug that works for my bathtub. The current pull the flip switch up and down to stop the water from going away isn't working.

BTW, just checked out megatech, I like their R/C Missile Launcher. But I'm quite unsure whether you can control the angle of the shot even though you get to rotate the turret :D.

Usagi has mentioned that it is now available in Japan... yet there isnt any more info about this than what is has already been released earlier this year...

There is no Divergear out there yet, and there probably won't be anything for a while...

Can you qualify what you said? is this your opinion or is it factual info that youve read somewhere?

It is a fact :( I wrote to Takara in Japan to ask then and here is their answer: "Dear Sir, Sorry to inform you that Divergear will not be ready for shipping untill next year". Okay, so what is next year? I wish I could give you a better answer then this, but this is all I know. But since they don't have anything about the sub on their pages yet, I would not think that they will be for sale till late next year...

latest konami/takara toy show in japan (currently on think) showcases a few new digiQ including the new JSDF tanks (June release) yet there was NO mention or demonstration of the DiverGear.

Well, if there is any new info about the Divergear...I haven't been able to find it, and I consider myself a pretty good 'net bloodhound' for info.
