Who is the manufacturer, and what is the part number?
I can't remember ever seeing a lithium battery in that package, it looks much more like a capacitor to me.

I'll stop short of saying "hoax" until you get a chance to provide some technical data.

crazydave 02-01-2003 07:56 AM

I couldn't find a 6v one, but here a 3.6v Lithium that has the wires coming out the ends like that.

While I was browsing RS's batteries I came across this 3v lithium that looks like it would fit a bit. Too bad RS doesn't give dimensions.

Dave

fuzzy2cell 02-01-2003 10:47 AM

it's a Radioshack 6v lithium battery.... You can get it at RS!:D the wires are not coming out the end. they're separated

fuzzy2cell 02-01-2003 10:48 AM

you guys want the instructions for wiring.. IT's really easy , and you never have to charge it again

fuzzy2cell 02-01-2003 11:24 AM

it didn't come in the package

fuzzy2cell 02-01-2003 11:25 AM

i bought it a RS, and you just install it like this

eman1 02-01-2003 11:34 AM

you can edit your post instead of posting 4 times in a row to raise your post count
so is the battery just a regular cell, or are the wires attached to it?

strider_mt2k 02-01-2003 12:33 PM

Fantastic!

I have never been so happy to stand corrected! I had no idea. Nicely done!
It is rechargeable right?

I am working on using these boards in a non-standard application, and a battery like this sounds perfect!

fuzzy2cell 02-01-2003 03:30 PM

it is not rechargable, but it lasts for a REALLY long time

XeroGT-R 02-01-2003 03:43 PM

will u please explain each step?thx

how long is really long and how much do they cost?

Vyrus 02-02-2003 09:38 AM

Doesn't the added weight from the battery slow it down significantly off the line? 455 SMpH is awesome tho!!

the battery is pretty light

fuzzy2cell 02-02-2003 03:45 PM

first, you take out the stock battery.

Then you make the ends of the two wires you're using into loops.

Next, you slip the loop over the rods that touched the battery.

Then you either cut a hole in the back of your body, or you make it fit somehow.

Close the PCB cover.

Slip the wires through the hole in the car.

connect the wire carrying the positive charge to the positive terminal on the battery.

Do the same for negative.

No more charging!!!!!!!:D

How does the new battery effect the handling?

The new battery provides more power to the motor, AND THE STEERING, so it is pretty equal to what it was stock.

JTM 02-02-2003 04:29 PM

its probably something that doesnt have anythign to do with bits, thus he prefers to take it off the forum...

it slows it down a little, but the power is plenty more than enough to make up for it:)

fuzzy2cell 02-04-2003 08:05 PM

a D battery would be awesome!!! But i don't think the power:weight ratio would be very good.:(

funkymonkey 02-05-2003 06:48 AM

A D battery wouldnt be awesome, it'd be 1.5v and loadsa weight...but it WOULD last a long time!

You could do this 6V mod as a sleeper using two little 3V watch cells. Would be hella fast, and would fit in the car. Bit expensive though as they wouldnt be rechargable.

fuzzy2cell 03-03-2003 02:58 PM

oops. sry. Should i put a hidden antenna in my RX-7 and or drop it?
