whos having the problem with the noise from the gear box? perhaps its because i bought my car used twice and when brandnew it sounds quiet as a summer breeze? at any rate, im somewhat fedup, but also part of master scheme. im now looking for an hpi mini pro. what is a good price for ebay? anyone have one for sale or know where i can get one? any info would be helpful. thanks..

My gears were getting loud too.So I used some thick white grease that came with my Losi XXX buggy and greased it up really good .Now I have normal r/c car noise:D

grease eh... ill try it! but there was a problem with my m03 gear box, i guess ill have to buy a new a-parts. and probably just go for the hollow carbon gear shafts. bah.. what a drag.

Mine was getting noisy. so I opened it up and there was sand and grit from the road....cleaned it out good...

Ypu really have to maintain those gear boxes. If you don`t the Junk just eats up the gears. Are you using a ball diff?

emonator 09-29-2002 03:41 PM

im using the stock diff. i have a ball diff but havent installed it. its quiet now though cuz i greased it up real nice and installed some univerals. man, universals are soo sweet.

emonator 10-01-2002 09:17 PM

i have the manta ray as well. ill probably install it soon.

PorscheGuy964 10-01-2002 10:53 PM

I shoudl probly install mien as well, Just taking the whole dang chassis apart is not a fast job....lol.....:) :o

emonator 10-03-2002 02:38 AM

i think its harder to open up the m01 chassis gear box than it is the m03. for the m03, you just pop off your motor, turnbuckles on the right side, and the servo mount on the right side, and all the right side screws of the front ned of the chassis. actually, its abotu the same, when you type it all out. hehe. but yeah, i hate to do that too. probably install it sometime.. this.. er.. next week. DAMN im lazy..

PorscheGuy964 10-03-2002 02:44 AM

Yea I'm sooo lazy.....

Usagi, what diff fo you think best suites the M's? preferably the FWD ones...

usagi 10-03-2002 04:25 AM

I have used all of them in My mini series the all work the same. Just make sure you maintain them once in awhile to keep them working at full levels.Mo2 has a tao2 ball Diff, the M03 have a Ta03 Ball Diff, FF02 have a Ta03 BAll Diff. Maybe I try to post picks for you people.
