sessiz10 01-22-2003 04:42 PM

I saw this over at the other forums and I still can't stop looking at it. That is excellent. I'm wondering, did you build the body from scratch?

dieselboy 01-22-2003 04:45 PM

ok :D

j/k, looks really good. Any chace you could post a video of it in action?

dabigpig 01-22-2003 04:52 PM

wow that thing is awsome how fast does it do the bit quarter mile? and diesleboy everytime i see that monstor tr..err um car it looks cooler

Namuna 01-22-2003 05:01 PM

Impressive. Most impressive

hogjowlz 01-22-2003 05:07 PM

what a funny car

dabigpig 01-22-2003 05:10 PM

do you still have steering hooked up? i would imagine you wouldn't want to turn, but still would be nice incase you head towards a wall.

dieselboy 01-22-2003 05:18 PM

you should make a long escalade body or something. Then you could have a fast escalade limo and a drag car :)

strider_mt2k 01-22-2003 05:33 PM

That is just fantastic. What a great mod!

tino 01-22-2003 06:42 PM

Amazing job!:)

headhunter555 01-22-2003 07:30 PM

Hey dieselboy, what did u do to the monster micro thingy??? that is sweet looking!!!!

eman1 01-22-2003 08:21 PM

sweet!

*Brandon* 01-22-2003 08:22 PM

Hey dieselboy did you get those tires off a micro machines monster truck. If so how did you do it

Also ripper what motor are you using in that dragster

nrmcj 01-22-2003 08:45 PM

that dragster scares me... but it's a Sweet mod! GJ ripper!!

lol, nooo!! the WRX is running my dream car over ><"
heh, both look and prolly work great... we should try a game of "who's bit can dent walls without breaking" :D

truckian 01-22-2003 09:38 PM

Wow

Nice quad cell mod on the dragster.:)

PWalk 01-22-2003 10:10 PM

That car is sick, just too sick.

Is that a custom chasis?

shocon2k 01-22-2003 11:56 PM

Sweet.........

JESUS..........

How many times have you run it? Are you sure the PCB can handle 4.8 volts? Seems a little sketchy to run 4 times the suggested voltage.

dieselboy 01-23-2003 12:26 AM

again, VIDEOS!! :)

as for the tires i'm not sure what they were off of but i'll ask my buddy what he destroyed to get them. Basically i created new axles and put the tires on them. Quite tedious to get everything lined up straight but it turned out good.

frizzen 01-23-2003 03:33 AM

I don't believe it!!! You made a Bit Rail-car.

That has got to be the absolute coolest mod I've seen ANYBODY do to a Bit! (Sorry everybody else, but it's a 4 cell nitro-methane rail car that still has steering)

That is too incredibly fu*king cool!

How did you make the body?

Canadian Bit 01-23-2003 06:22 AM

Very cool ripper7777777! What is the scale top speed of that dragster? Doesn't it flip at top speed? What motor does it use?

ripper7777777 01-23-2003 10:39 AM

Thanks everyone for the great comments, I'll try and answer all the questions.

Motor = Turbo Motor

Scale Top Speed = F*****G FAST

Does it Flip = No it doesn't even lift the front wheels, just takes off.

Body = Handcrafted out of Polystyrene and polyester glazing putty (auto filler)

Chassis = extended with .060 black polystyrene

Steering = Yes, about a 2' radius, very easy to handle, I first tested in my kitchen

How many times have I run it = 4

Can it handle 4 batts = Don't know, Don't care, it was a 9.99 fit racer if it burns I'll replace the pcb. If it burns I'll let everyone know.

Videos = Maybe, will see, I've got alot of other projects right now, and I'm gonna make another one so maybe I'll video a race.

Thanks again everyone, it was fun to build and who knows maybe I started something.

Please keep us posted on the PCB, I want to do the mod, but I don't want to burn my PCB.

You must be a proud man...

BenCloned 01-29-2003 01:36 PM

According to spec's on the PCB, it should handle 5 volts, so the 4-cell mod is safe. The motor........? Hope you have a bunch of spares. Smoke=bad.

ripper7777777 01-29-2003 06:51 PM

XeroGT-R you bet I'm proud :D

Project RC the pcb has handled it fine like BenCloned said the worry is the motor, it seems okay if you stick with the lower motors, I have a ZZ turbo in it and I've used the ZZ blue motor with no problems, but I tried a 2.6 and it didn't seem to like it, I think the thinner wires in the higher rev motors can't take the power. But if your worried about frying the pcb then maybe you shouldn't try this because not all cars are created equal, not to mention it's real easy to destroy a car when you cut it in half to stretch a chassis.

Project RC 01-30-2003 12:47 AM

I did a two cell mod, and my zz runs fine. I wouldn't do the 4 cell for a while tho. bc24m

BenCloned 01-30-2003 09:33 AM

2 - cell seems to be the way to go. From my experience, that's where you see the most improvement. Also, nearly all the PCB's and motors can handle it.

-v2oracle- 01-31-2003 03:11 AM

that is a wicked wicked machine, the dragster is a work of perfection, so cool man! and diesel boy your truck/car is nice, nice nice nice! i'd love to see videos of both the dragster and diesel boy's creation, wow i am truly humbled. cool mods dudes:D

BenCloned 01-31-2003 07:40 AM

The dragster is very impressive.

Canadian Bit 01-31-2003 08:38 AM

Sorry for such a long reply, ripper7777777, but that is impressive.
Has it won any Bit Dra-G competitions yet?

BabyKiller 01-31-2003 10:45 AM

um i really am gonna compete in races that have(must be origanal sized chassi)rule cause thats kinda unfair

Canadian Bit 01-31-2003 11:30 AM

Yeah, but maybe all the micro rc cars in the events have to be as long [or longer] as Zip Zaps.

denden 01-31-2003 07:12 PM

AWESOME !! Really Good Idea .

Project RC 02-23-2003 01:47 AM

They should have a extended chassis class in the compitition.
