Replacement Chassis
My 1st MS went bad for no reason a few weeks ago. I emailed Hobbico customer service thru the MS site about the prob and they sent me a complete chassis minus the body. Their CS is awesome! All I had to do was fill out the CS survey and they told me a replacement chassis was in the mail. Too bad the only freq that MS and Bits share is 27mhz. All you need is the FCC # off a MS, and if you've got a bad 27mhz Bit then you will be up and running again in a couple of weeks. I'm sure someone has already thought of this. Once again Hobbico CS rules!
:D bc12m bg825 :btm: b27m b26 bbimpb Can't wait to get my 350Z:D |
do they require you to send in the bad chassis? or can u just keep it for parts?
The same thing happened to me. My steering went bad, and Hobbico sent me a new chassis.
The cool thing is the new chassis came complete with motor, heatsink, gears and tires. And it was pre-calibrated (the steering trim was already adjusted). And no, they do not require you return the bad chassis. Hobbico C/S kicks butt! |
hmmm does it work with bit-char g or just MS?
i would imagine BCG has a simliar form on tomy website...
please dont try and be kewl and start getting 2 or 3 chassis sent to you because that is illegal and my friend was fined 500 dollers for it so watch out if you want to be a scammer

i have 4 bit char-g and 1 microsizer. the steering on my supra bitcharger is horrible. I know you only get 1 shot with the microsizer upc but i figure it'd be ok to call it in get the extra chassis and fix my supra. (course i'd have to transplant the pcb)
they are all legit bits so i'm not scamming. |
Definitely not scamming, since they are both manufactured by the same parent company. When you go into the MS site and fill out the customer survey thing you will need the FCC# off your MS chassis. The first time no questions are asked. If you have any additional problems they want a copy of the receipt as proof so they don't get taken to the cleaners. They might even want the defective chassis as well. Good thing about the first replacement is that everything is replaced, except the body and controller. Good luck, MS C/S is really cool!:D
I looked on the MS website. but i dont see the form your talkin about.
Go to the MS home page and click on mechanics corner. At the bottom pull down menu click on "all other problems" and that will take you to the customer survey you need to fill out. Make sure you tell them that you never opened up the front end. It voids the warranty. They ask tons of specific ?'s make sure you answer them all or you will have to go back and complete the missed ?'s
I sincerely hope all the cheapasses out there don't take this as a cue to go rip off Hobbico. Because if 500 of you go get 2 free cars each, thats 1000 cars Hobbico doesn't get paid for, and if that kinda crap happens, us honest folk have to pay higher prices in the stores.
they wont be able to get two chassis, @ the max one, but they ask you questions.. and you almost need to have an official MS to answer them.
I was not trying to give anybody any ideas about scamming free stuff from Hobbico. I had an honest problem and they gave me an honest soultion. If a person still has a problem with their car after it is replaced, Hobbico requires proof pf purchase. For all those would be scammers "What goes around come around."
i might scam me chassis. have hobby ico send them to my whole street, then ask the neighbors if they have my package :D

im sorry but i dont want you to dime me out. as for the fcc numbers, i have plenty for everyone. :D
awwww come on, i wont rat you out... id never do that to a scuzz bag scammer
this is kind of a silly question but do the Bit char Gs have an FCC number? or just the microsizers? and if so where is it? i've got a bit char g that has a few steering problems...
only the microsizers have the fcc number. the number is on a sticker located on the bottom of the chasis and on the bottom of the controller. the only reason why the microsizers have them is because the frequencies(27&49) are legal for use of rc cars, and have passed the fcc regulations. you won't find a fcc number on any bit char-g.

i have about 100,000 fcc numbers. i can try to get about 10 a week for the next 10 years lol.
Yes, except that FCCIDs are the same for cars on the same frequency. Stop being a douche on the boards.
douchebag 10 a week for 10 years is only like 5,200 chassis... and i think they would get suspicious
not really, thats why you handle the business diffrent other neighborhoods, put up flyers and ish :( (being sarcastic so dont trip shocon) :o

It took about 2 weeks for my replacement chassis to get to me here in Germany. MS C/S replied to my survey the same day and the next day they emailed me saying a replacement chassis was in the mail. Lucikly I had another car to keep me from going into Mini RC withdrawls:D |
Yeah, i had a problem with my controller (forward button not working correctly). I filled out the survey and MS rushed me out a new controller. This is really good customer service and it's a shame if people want to abuse it. This is only gonna make it harder for those of us who have legit problems. If people keep trying to scam them, they're gonna start making people send the old parts in with reciepts and UPCs.
That is what they told me. If I have any more problems with my chassis I would have to return my defective chassis w/the receipt as proof of purchase. Hopefully this will minimize scamming.
if scammers keep getting free chassis', Hobbico won't give free replacements without receipts, UPC's, ect. This will take much more time for the replacements to arrive, and people will have to pay shipping for sending UPCs, Reciepts, and everyone will be pissed. To make this simple, DON'T SCAM! It's illegal. This thread should be deleted, because it has incriminating information.
I don't think the thread needs to be deleated. It was started to give people with problems info on how to solve their unfixable (real word?) problems. All ideas have inheritently bad applications. Look at atomic power. Good application: its a cheap source of energy. Bad application: weapon of mass destruction. People just need to be honest with their claims to Hobbico about defective products. I agree that with increased claims come more stringent requirements to receive replacements. Personally, I think that a copy of a receipt should be required as proof of purchase.
instead of starting a new thread. . .
I just opened up my microsizer to find out why it was running slower than my other bits. Lo and behold I notice that one of the tiny (steering?) wires had been soldered together in the middle!! And what's more, it was a bad soldering job because the two halves of the wire came apart right before my eyes!
I would have expected this from a clone but not from Tomy/Hobbico. Well, I'll know soon enough how good their customer service is. |
don't tell them you opened up the bit.
LOL
sory to say this mcharels but if u look at oyur fiance with magnifing glass it looks like there is mustache LOL |
no mustache, just a really small picture. why does everyone think she's a dude.
kus she is in a very dude-like pose.. i would reccomend getting a new picture, mayeb in a dress, in a meadow next to a tree.. with flowers in her hair.. u know something really girly.
Dude, shes a dude! j/k:D
so if my bit char-g broke there would be no way to get it replaced?

Do you have a MS? What freq is your Bit? If you have a MS and your Bit is 27mhz, than you can figure the rest out. Both types of cars are owned by the same parent company (Tomy) and they both should have the same customer service policies. |
I just have a bit, freq. is 27mhz. It doesnt have any problems, but if it does I want to know who i should go to for help.
