My 2000 civic
1 Attachment(s)
This is still a work in progress. I still have to mount it, but the major work is done. This is from the hotwheels tuners cars.
EDIT: I don't know what's up with the size of the pic I tried editing the post but it's still huge. |

I also have new rims.

The hotwheel import tunerz are absolutely the sweetest I've seen. They come with great hubcaps, mufflers and spoilers too. How does your Zip handle with the added weight?
|
Sessiz, you own almost every hotwheel I do. :) I'd love to see the Escalade on a Zip.
|
I would have loved an escalade too but I don't think it'll fit. I was surprised the zip even moved and actually moved pretty good with the turbo in a stock chassis. I still haven't mounted the body so I didn't go far but I don't think the body will effect a dual cell zip at all with a turbo. I still can't wait to do the front rims, but I think I'm done for tonight. I'm gonna have to shave the chassis a bit in the back in order to get the modded gear on.
|
Keep us posted. You're gonna have a sweet ride.
|
Cool body, some questions.
I have yet to get a Zip Zap, or Import Tuner and I just want to know if Import Tuners are ever going to be sold in Canada? I can get a Zip Zap, but it means that I have to go to the U.S, and in awhile, I will. But keep up the progress on the body sessiz.
|
Well I mounted the body by using some tissue and electrical tape. I wrapped the tissue (very small folded pieces) with tape and then affixed them to the car's inner side panels. I have a very snug fit and am still able to remove the body easily. I am going to need atleast a dual cell for this body and the r-spec if it truly has the tourque it is reported to have. The body is obviously far to heavy for my zip char-g with a 2.6. Worst case scenerio this will be my show car.
I decided to hold off on the wheels only because I don't have any spare zip knuckles to play with. Anyone know if bit or clone knuckles will work on a zip chassis? |
Can you get the Hotwheels tuners cars at walmart? I'd love to get my hands on one. Your car looks great!

The rims???
The rims are from the Hot Wheels Cars? And the tires? Look just the right width for my 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo Project car. :D
|
40MHZ Zip?
Just noticed that in your sig...you're not running it off a stock ZZ controller, are you? Just the clone controller, right?
PLEASE tell me your using the stock controller. |

|
HEy How Do You Get The Body Off The Hot Wheels Tunerz I CAnt Get it off or did you juss took out hte screws at the end and top i cant get it out thanks!
|
I Finally Got the body off the Tunerz car but now i dot know how to get the metal thing off in the middle? how did you take them out or did you leave them in? i am talking about a metal thing going down from teh bottem in the middle of each end. I Have the exact same Civic you do the blue one soo guide me plz! thanks
|
Step by Step
1st you need a dremel tool. 2nd you need a metal cutting wheel bit for the dremel. 3rd you need a sanding drum bit. 4th you gotta be VERY carefull. 5th you cut the metal pegs off. 6th you sand down what is remaining of the matal and plastic. You're done. |
thanks But then thats kind of Pricey For a Dremel... Got any otehr ideas how to get it off?
|
You're going to have to cut the metal pieces some how and a dremel is the best way. I suppose if you have a drill handy you might be able to find a cutting wheel bit of some sort that would fit the drill. Unfortunatly the pieces are diecast metal and need to be removed.
|
Will import tunerz only work on ZZ's and not bit char-g's, or is ther some way to make the bit work with them???
|
The import tunerz are too big for bits, sorry. You could make them fit a bit but it would probably be easier to just make your own shell.
|
yeah i can deal with the shells i got, im just curious about tires and rims and stuff, those alpine truck rims look WAY to nice. i gotta have em! lol
can they at least be modded to a bit? |
The rims are huge. They will fit but some shaving of the chassis is going to be needed.

Schweeeeet!
Wow...haven't been around lately, and just came back to this thread. Wowwie-K-Zowwie! Those look absolutely sweet! Need to get motivating on the ZZSS project again. Got my Shen parts cars for the boards today. That means solderfest tonight (if I don't go to the National Western Stock Show...I'm a city slicker redneck at heart). Thanks for the inspiration to get me moving again!

the company that makes the Modifiers cars, now makes cars taht are HotWheel size ...but the only thing that u can swap on them is the seats and springs i think..pfft no fun..
some of the cars re teh civic, focus HB, truck?, some SUV..and 00' 2door accord..and maybe others... i couldnt tell if the body was plastic or not... |
There's a Modifier 1:64 scale Caddilac Escalade, Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Acura Integra, Ford F150, Ford Focus, GMC Yukon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and more. On the 1:64s you can tint the windows, change the rims, and change the seats. Though if you want rims for your Bit, or Zip Zap, get the 1:43 scale Modifiers.
EDIT: Oh, and the bodies are metal though. |
Shavin Rims
Instead of shaving some parts of the chassis for the rims to work, can't you just make the rims thinner?
|
It's not the width of the rims it's the hieght that cause them to rub the chassis.
|
Talk about a ricer
|
No lets not.
|
sessiz10: I found two "Import Tuners", but I just want to know, how do you open it up?
|
You have to cut the chassis of the tuner. The car's body is peged onto the chassis, not screwed on, which you probably already know.
I used a rotary tool and a cutting bit to cut the chassis off and then the metal pegs on the body. |
Oh, I was about to X-Acto-knife it.
|
hey i searched for a long while but just wondered if you got those tunerz wheels on. I tried pulling the front knuckles off and had no success. Any tricks to getting them off? Thanks
|
I did get the wheels on but they didn't work well so I removed them. To get the wheels off of the front knuckles, the best way in my opinion, is to just twist and pull. I've also had luck with heating up the metal peg with a soldering iron for just a lil bit. Hell you could even just destroy the rim by cutting it off making it easier to pull the peg out of the knuckle, but thats kind of a no return method.;)
If you search the boards for wheel swaps you should be able to find alot more info. |
they just didnt steer well or what. if it effects performance i'd rather not even take the time to do it considering i'd take them off immediately.
