Are bit char-g's easy to mod? Please read.
 

I'm going to buy a new tiny r/c car soon and can't decide between a microsizer or a bit char-g.

I want to put a double batt. mod and headlight mod , and many more.

Which one would be easier/roomier to do these kinds of things?


Also, if i buy the yoshi or mario racer bit char-g's can i still put new bodies on them later on?

Thanks. I heard that before, but I still don't understand why people would choose a bit char-g online for 35 plus shipping over a microsizer for 29.99?

I dont understand why some1 would pay 29$ for a Microsizer when you can get a Shen for less than 19$ and it will put the Msizer to shame. Some people have more dollars than sense.

Actually, i'd buy the Bit CharG over a microsizer due to:

1) The different frequencies (4 vs 2)
2) I can get the booster sets
3) More body styles to choose from

You're probably right. I do have more money than sense but I also don't like how the Shen's look so I buy the body style that looks good from the Bits. Sure it cost a little more, but to me, it's worth it.

Well before I defend myself I don't know what a Shen is, and if they sell them locally.

If I was to buy something online, it'd Be a Bit Char-G.

These areShen Qi Wei cars. I personally don't like the cars with all the racing stickers on them so I choose to buy Bit CharG.

i have one of those clone stuffs and it sucks. it wont evn charge right some times only for a few seconds or not at all. and i don't know why. so i just ripped it for parts and stuck with tomy instead.

In some cases, you can get a bit for about $30 shipped! eBay is good for getting special edition Bit Char-G sets, because they can be found cheaper than TE.

Seriously, if you are going to modify your car, WHAT'S THE DIFF?
All the stuff people cry about in the cheap clones gets ripped out anyway when you replace the components. By the time you are done removing stuff, you have a radio board and a chassis PERIOD. The good parts is what makes the diff.

Some of the graphics are pretty nice under those crappy stickers. Far nicer than some of the lame DIY paint jobs I've seen here.

I would say pick up a couple of clones to experiment on, and when you are confident in your abilities, get a Bit, but I don't think it makes much diff after the mods go in.

well to answer your question there are easy and dificult mods... if you want to change tyres, transmissions, batteries motors, etc.. this all is very easy to do (i still count them has mods because they can change the results of your car), when you start messing around with the circuit board then it becomes sometimes hard to do... but that all depends on your experience. like strider_mt2k said, just buy some clones and mod them, if you're confident with the results then mess around with your bit. At least the led mod you want to do can be done very easily, you'll just need some soldering skills. check the questformadness page for some tips

I like the solid looking one colored paint jobs. No stickers, racing stripes, or splashed graphics/paint for me. What can I say, I'm boring. ;)

krillin52, If you put some zipzap wheels on your bit, you can definately make your WRX look like that picture.

The Shen Qi Wei clones are pretty good IMO, they have a very powerful motor, good range, and good steering. They go for about 15 bucks at toy stores in my area.
My brother got what looked like a shen at Lord and Taylor, it was called a "precious" racer or sometging to that effect. It had a yellow 2.2 motor, and a grey chassis (vs. black). It looked to be of decent quality, but my Shen would can circles around it. He is buying some KIT racers to get get the motors, so he can keep up with me...

If your gonna do any PCB mods, or multi cell mods - I would buy a Shen (or other clone) to experiment on, rather than a genuine Bit or MicroSizer. Working with SMD components requires a delicate touch, and good soldering equipment.

i agree with that. thing is ive seen micro sizers here for 20 bucks at target. not to bad of a price. also i was gonna ask you guys, what would be better to experiment on, shens or Lxx Char-g? im thinking the Lxx Char-g is closer to the original since it has an original looking controller.
