When I take pics of my car, it's always blurry when I put the camera too close or when I zoom in too much. If it's a good distance away, bingo... instant good picture...

Camera Theorey...
The reason you're having trouble is because your lens is designed to be used optimally for objects from ~2-3 feet to infinity for focusing. You can only rack the front element of you lens out so far with this lens. Effect? Can't focus on close things. In the SLR world, you can buy "macro" lenses for doing close up work. For a point and shoot "Clicker" like yours, some companies sell attachments for the front of your lens. A cheaper alternative is finding an old magnifying glass or so. You'll be able to re-focus on closer images. It's like putting on a pair of reading glasses if you are far-sighted. It'll take a little practice, but you should be able to get the hang of it! Good luck!
