another...
did u make the body urself?!?!ive never seen that body before..
Dude the scoop is made from putty! the spoiler is stock but moved back and the body is a subaru wrx!
Ooops nope just loooked again the spoiler is probably putty too!:D
the scoop, spoiler, and both bumpers are epoxy putty...I still gotta do some more sanding to make it cleaner. I cut the windows out, and yes it will be the Blue Pearl rally color with ALL the decals , not just the doors.
What wheels are those? I like them a lot... can't wait to see the car completed.
Those are ZipZap wheels, I did the QFM mod w/two axels (Mod #2 - fullsized wheel set) and the back axel just snapped on. the wheels are interchangable too!
i kno its a wrx but i never saw bit 1 before....and the front looks a lil like a dodge neon...but its stil good..i kno i couldn't do better
U've never seen a bit WRX before?????????? They're all over!!!
LOLLL
Well, just applied the last coat of WRX blue, now for the decals and lights and unless something goes terribly wrong then the final pictures should be up sometime this week! :D
WOW!!!! That body lokks so good! How did u do it? is it a subaru shel which uve added 2?
or did u modify a shell into the subaru? What putty/paint have u used? |
Ok
FIRST THINGS FIRST! He used Epoxy Putty for the Bumpers, spoiler, and scoop! He used some sort of Blue paint like the real WRC impreza drive by Tommi Maikinen! And @ 1 time it was a STOCK subaru WRX body! WRXin' |
Thought it was a bit 2 good!
Im gonna modify a shell, poss into a BMW 3 series or something. |
Yea, it was a stock WRX shell. I'm gonna try to make some sort of a body kit walkthrough site or something to show people that have questions on this kinda stuff how to make one.

one more, I can't help myself- if only it didn't take so long to dry... hehe.
Keep up the good work! that shells gonna look fab, but DON'T RUSH IT!!!!!!!
That blue = lovely! |
And I thought that my car was pimpin!! Nice putty work. What did you use exactly?
What are you gonna be putting for the windows-if you are putting windows in that is.
Argh! minor set back... I was puttin on the decals, and I messed up on one of them, so I took it off, and some of the paint came with it :( . I'll just have to let everything set over night, go at it with some sandpaper (there's nothing a little sandpaper can't fix!), and redo that last coat. I hate it when stuff like this happens, but it's all part of the hobbie...
Oh, sorry for not answering ur ?'s in the last post...
@ evileric: I'll explain how I did everything once I'm finished, hopefully that'll be sometime 2maro. @ xatu: I was thinking of using some plastic wrap for the window, otherwise I'll just leave them out- makes up for the extra weight added by the putty! P.S. I'm working on another (better) WRX, this one's gonna be a secret until it's finished, that'll probably be sometime next week. |
I say just leave em like they are. Nothing in em. I am hoping to get a subaru body soon... It's just I don't know if I can get it for free... :D I'll try though! I love the subaru's! They looks so awesome.
nice..i did some puty work(baking clay)to my 206 but i forgot about it and left it bakign and it melted..LOL..ill try again...
LOL, GoOsEmAn do you have a picture of that?
Oh, Xatu, where'd u get the free motors from? |
Five finger discount, if you get what I mean :D
See, I would leave them alone, only I already have a stock one, so why leave the others stock when I can mod them!
Hey, have any of you guys seen some of DriveWRX's paint jobs??? They are awesome check em out here http://tinyrc.com/forums/showthread....&threadid=4443
I'm hoping to match some of those with my second WRX... |

Excellent job! Can't wait to see it finished. Don't rush it though! I wanted to make a WRC WRX too. But I'm not so good with the putty. I did the ZZ wheel mod too, same rims! I'f it's not too late... I found paint that closely matches the Rally Blue Pearl of the real WRX's. And it dries quick too. It's Testor's Model Master Acryl "True Blue Pearl". Hey, I got an idea... If you make me a WRC WRX like yours (unpainted), I'll paint one of your bodies. E-mail me if you're interested. ;) |
Hey Drive!
I used that exact paint, only the enamel- the car was under lots of sunlight when I took the picture, so it's actually a little darker than the picture. |

Here's the basic idea of my decals, I'm still doing some work to them though...
Awesome!
I have a big sticker of that car on the side of my computer... =D
Very nice job! Where do you get stickers like that? |
Dang Impreza WR reX,
 That is so awesome! It's better than I imagined! :D Now, all we need is to get the Lancer EVO WRC, the Peugeot 206 WRC and your WRC WRX together and drive on cowfish_29's rally track! Mini World Rally Championship! :D :D :D Too cool! Too bad there isn't a Focus WRC... |
yea, I still have to do the lights and all, but I have seen a Focus clone somewhere, maybe it could be modded to fit a bit. World Rally Champs. on a tiny scale sounds pretty cool, I thinking of making my own track now :) !
Wow, turned out MUCH better than what I thought! I love the decals and everything!
yum-
qfm springs, Fullsize impreza wheels, and bam...you got yourself a good rally car...especially for my track. I think fullsize wheels would help with clearance, because if you loose speed, sometimes you scrape on the jumps. |
btw-
that is the best car i have seen on these boards, keep it up d00d. |
Thanks for the comments everyone!
I'll have the final pictures up soon... Ok, now for the questions... The body kit was made from epoxy putty. I used some from the warhammer minitures I use to paint. You can find it at www.games-workshop.com or at any games workshop store. The decals were made with inkjet decal paper. They didn't turn out as well as I had originally hoped (note the slight color difference), but I'm trying to fix that right now. |
