Lxx 3.0 motor vs Bit Char-G motors

So how does the clone LXX 3.0 motor compare with the bit charG motors? Is the LXX 3.0 comparable to the bit charG 3.0? (I did a search but couldn't find the answer)

GoOsEmAn 12-06-2002 11:21 AM

never heard of lxx...but it depends on which bit motor..if it is 3.0 vs 3.0 it would be pretty close..

assuming that its being run on the same gears , have same weight, and same power source.

I am still wating for my 3.0 tomy to arrive but I had a lxx car and it was fast. However I will follow up on this when the time comes. :)

TemjinNeo78 12-07-2002 02:05 PM

LXX 3.0=sadly slow

Bit 3.0=sadly fast.....lol

Mr.Bigfish 12-07-2002 02:29 PM

i have a lxx car, which comes stock with a "3.0" but it is not nearly as fast as the tomy. in fact, my stock microsizer with a 2.2 is faster than the lxx. but i would still recommend the lxx because it handels very well compared to the tomy.

J. Gandia 12-07-2002 04:07 PM

lxx

I had a lxx and when I first got the car it was very slow so slow I put it down and din't want to play with it anymore. Then some things happen I out of no place decided to change change the body and wala the dam thing flew across the living room floor.
When I put baCK the old body it did it again as slow as a turtle.
So do youself a favor and find a ligft body and you will see a major difference.:D

J. Gandia 12-12-2002 01:28 PM

other body's

I tried other body on the car it was the same. All the heavy bodies weight the car down. When ever I'm racing I allways change the body and tires.:p

jayd177 12-14-2002 11:18 PM

I've got:
LXX 3.0 and,
microracer(bit char-A) with a 2.6 and green gearing.

The 2.6 with gearing smokes my LXX. Not just a little faster, but runs circles around it. 2-3 times faster at least. I was disappointed. So, I've ordered a bit 3.0 and also a genuine Char-G brand car with the booster 2 speed. Now to wait and see what happens when I mix and match.

tifosi_ms1 12-14-2002 11:51 PM

Yeah a friend of mine has and LXX with te 3.0 and smoked my 2.6 KIT Bit Char G. The motor in the lxx is weird. No tab like on the tomy or kit or micro q just a round plate out the back in the dead center. The lxx is also very loud and the paint immedately started peeling off. The tires though are amazing.

bill 12-15-2002 10:10 PM

damn, forgot about this thread

I guess the short answer is that the LXX 3.0 is more like a Tomy 2.2 or a Tomy 2.6 if the shell isn't on the car... LoL

Ovgron 12-16-2002 12:29 AM

i got some lxx bits, and the motors are loud and slow. They got white end caps. They got the speed of like a 1.0. (it was special racing edition bits)

J. Gandia 12-16-2002 10:14 AM

It's not the car but the cover I had the same problems. My car ran like a dead horse untill I took of the cover and wala. Try it.

Well, what good is running a car without the shell....

J. Gandia 12-17-2002 10:45 AM

If you race it everything. I put a old panther body on the car and it ran 2 times faster. If you race the body means everything.

Swe 12-18-2002 12:22 AM

I tried to mount the lxx-motor in another bulletclone and it became very fast... much faster than when it was in the lxx...

J. Gandia 12-18-2002 10:03 AM

Yes that motor is pretty fast. Did you try the new 3.4 dark side yet or 3.0 Tomy?

Swe 12-18-2002 10:49 AM

Yes i have tried the tomy 3.0 in a lxx-car. I think this motor was broken because it hardly moved forward and not backwards at all.

Have you tried some motors in the lxx? Or lxx-motors in other cars..

A really bad motor is the one sitting in Hummer H1. The motoraxle dont stand a motorgear change. The axle is coming out too long at the backside when pressing on a gear. Then the motor stops working... Good quality!!!

J. Gandia 12-18-2002 12:36 PM

Sorry but ny lxx broke down about a 2 week ago still waiting for my new one. However I tried to put my 3.0 lxx motor into my tomy and it didn't work I would have to spin the motor a few times to get it to work again. I am waiting for my new lxx to come in the mail so I could change the motor to a 3.4 dark side motor.
I also purchased a 3.1 motor for my tomy is smokes. I am waiting
for driftking king to restock the 3.4 dark side for tomy I herd it pretty fast .

JBit 12-18-2002 01:33 PM

DKS seems to have a 3.4 motor for LXX and a 3.4 motor for Char-G/Microsizers. I guess there is a big enough diff to dothat - and the LXX motor is in stock!

J. Gandia 12-18-2002 02:23 PM

Well I'm using the 3.4 motor for the lxx in the mircosizer however I was told that the 3.4 motor for the mircosizer was surpose to be very fast. I put my 3.1 fury motor up against my 3.4 lxx dark side and it smoked it right from the starting line I cant figue it out.
however I brought the motor for my lxx car so when I recieve the car I will try it out. I have to admit the 3.1 motor is a joy. :D

DensityMan 12-21-2002 10:46 AM

Bad luck for me...

I have 4 bits now total: 2 Tomy, 1 Microsizer (Tomy US) and most recently 1 Lxx

Not only was the 3.0 Lxx only marginally faster then the Tomy 1.0 I had/have serious problems with reverse (especially when left-reversing). The Lxx chassis itself was/is defective so much so that the car has a horrible "wobble" in straight-reverse and the left-front tire jams totally on a left-reverse...

I have attempted several shaving operations (to no avail) and even modded that front tire (to no avail... *shrug*

Live and learn

(Best luck so far on alignment has been the UltraMan "Pointer" - straight as an arrow with "posi-trac" outta the box *grin*)

Swe 12-21-2002 02:08 PM

Why dont send your lxx back? it appears to be broken.. not only the steering but maybe also the motor. It can also be the lxx-gears that makes your car to go very slow and hardly backwards. The lxx-gears is very low quality. I have Tomy-gears on both my lxx-cars.

jayd177 12-21-2002 03:41 PM

My LXX with the 3.0 it came with isn't any faster than my char-g with a 1.0 either. I've also got a char-a off-brand with 2.6 and upgraded gearing which is almost as fast as my char-g when I put a bit brand 3.0 in it.
My opinions so far are:
3. LXX is slow and/or falsely advertises
2. char-a's (micro racers) are pretty fast, but seem to be cheaper quality
1. Bit Char-g's are still king for quality and speed.

I've got a couple other knock offs also, and out of all of them, the Char-G is definately built with the best quality.

Swe 12-21-2002 05:12 PM

The lxx-motor is not as slow as a Tomy 1.0!! The motors you have must be broken... I have a Tomy 1.6 motor and that motor is MUCH slower than a lxx 3.0 motor. I have a clone with 2.6 and even that is slower than the 2 lxx i have... Have you tried to pull the axle by hand and feel if there is a resistance.... If there are the motors are definately broken....Send the motors back!!! I also use a lxx motor in a clone with dualbattery and it makes wheelies and even flip the car over sometimes...... funny funny! but it is impossible to controll..

One other alternative is that your lxx-pcbs dont give enough juice to the motors... Have somebody tried to put lxxmotors in other clones or the other way around?

DensityMan 12-21-2002 08:17 PM

Live and learn...

pulled the axle... switched it for a Tomy axle and gear... swapped the tires, etc... then actually tested for rub and found the chassis itself to be defective.

As for returning it, it was an E-bay purchase with the seller now not responding to e-mails... *sigh*

If nothing else, it will at least serve as a good test-dummy... or perhaps parted out (at least the 45Mhz receiver)

:D

Swe 12-22-2002 01:44 AM

If your going to buy clones (as lxx) or original Tomybits. Then buy them from Toyeast.com. They have very low prices and you can return broken items. Sometimes it is enough with a photo of the broken part. A lxx cost around 10 US$ and you dont have to pay customs because they send the packet as a gift. I have ordered from them at least 4-5 times and everytime it has taken less then a week to get the stuff.

jayd177 12-22-2002 09:34 AM

I pulled the body off, checked the gearing and made sure it was put together right, and still slow as a 1.0. I switched out the motor with a bit 2.6 and it was fast. I don't think LXX put the motor in there they said they did. It has a white cap, and my bit-3.0 has a red cap. I ordered everything I've got from toyeast. If this is defective or wrong, it's the first thing they've sent me that was.

kazi 12-24-2002 12:54 PM

I bought myself two TOMY 3.0 motors for my two LXX-char's, and now with the tomy 3.0 i have to tap the car to even move. even with the bg12 and 8 tooth pinion!

What did i do wrong? is it supposed to be like this?

DensityMan 12-24-2002 02:21 PM

Hrmmm

Buddy of mine had this same problem (Lxx chassis/body w/ a tomy 3.0 motor). I believe he solved his issues by swapping out the Lxx pinion gear for the Tomy pinion, then added the Tomy gear axle and gear...

Though he may have switched at that point to the 8.25:1...

I'll double check with him.

I have also tried with 2 different Tomy 3.0 motors in LXX-cars with bad results.. It seems they not have the power to get the car moving.
Maybe Lxx-cars dont send enough juice to the motor..

Has somebody else tried with Tomy 3.0 motors in Lxx??????

Do somebody know how to mod the pcb (resistors) to get more juice to the motor. I have seen this mod on ZipZaps but not on bits...

kazi 12-25-2002 01:42 PM

I fixed the problem today!

I just cleaned the whole car, and it worked!

and when i was at it, i made a 2 cell mod, now this bit it FLYING!

btw, jag är oxå svensk =)

Swe 12-25-2002 03:03 PM

Kazi, did it work with only one battery?

I am using my Tomy 3.0 in a streetmoded H1 hummer-clone with dualbatteries and the car is faster than hell. I did not get it to work in a Lxx with one battery.

(Kul med ytterligare en svensk! Vi är nog inte så många här!!)

kazi 12-25-2002 04:42 PM

yes it did work with one battery after i cleaned the car. but i would really suggest uppgrading to 2-cell. :)

now i got a lil bit without a battery.. poor bit..
anyways im waiting for 1/3AAA from GP to arrive, so then it will kick it with 2cell to :D

Swe 12-25-2002 06:36 PM

It´s very funny with dualbatteries, but on a track the dualbatt-bits is to fast!! Do you mount both batteries under the pcb?

kazi 12-26-2002 06:51 AM

I mounted my over the engine, so ½ sticks out of the window.

Im gonna put on Choro-Q wheels on the front of my char today, just to see how it will handle the even smaller wheels :)

Swe 12-26-2002 07:53 AM

Good luck Kazi! I drive my dualbatt-bit with hard front tires. When i used soft tires the car flipped as soon as i tried to steer. It´s kind of fun with too much power!
