Nos

Guess what guys? I bought a small bottlecaped sized alluminum tank and injected nos into it since my dad is a mechanic and wired it so that the electricty activated the tank and shoots the nos into the motor. Its so fast. At least 3 times as fast. The speed though might be becasue the air is pushing the car rather than powering it, I dont know, but it is fast. Go nos. Its so sweet. I go to like competetions and show them my nos tank. What do you guys think?

FunkyMonkey4 07-30-2002 07:01 PM

Oh my god dude, that so sweet. I did that too. ITs cool huh. Dont ligh the bottle though, lol.

billytwix 07-31-2002 12:57 AM

can you send me specs/info on the nos you are refering to? i've been looking everywhere fore some! thanks!

billytwix@hotmail

FunkyMonkey4 07-31-2002 09:37 AM

Uh I'll try, but my nos tank's nozzle broke down. Guess it's not so durable. But it is cool, though.

E)(pul$ioN 07-31-2002 12:31 PM

ROFLMAO! Man, I don't fink this is true or its just a tank of compressed air or sumthin that you brought...

sharpshooter 07-31-2002 02:03 PM

yea post a pic, I can't really see how you can mount a tank onto your bit char-G and have it spray NOS into your motor, lol

tinyrc 07-31-2002 02:07 PM

...or that this would do anything to an ELECTRIC motor other than perhaps set it on fire!

sharpshooter 07-31-2002 02:10 PM

imagine his car driving around with flames comming out from the back lol

FunkyMonkey4 07-31-2002 05:50 PM

Ill post some pics on

schoon 07-31-2002 06:02 PM

I can't claim to be an electronics expert, but I do have some knowledge, and I can't figure out how NOS would have any effect at all on an electric motor, which neither combusts nor uses O2 at all.

However, a pressurized gas cylinder (filled with anything would provide quite a boost for a very short time, assuming the cylinder wasn't too heavy.

tinyrc 07-31-2002 06:14 PM

schoon, I think the entire thread is a work of fiction I'm afraid. From the second post where FunkyMonkey4 replies to himself pretending to be another person to the lack of willingness to post a pic of the alleged tank, I think the entire thing is just a joke.

FunkyMonkey4 07-31-2002 06:18 PM

Okay okay, Ill be honest, it was co2 not nos. But there was a cylinder. You know those c02 tanks from paintball guns where when something is touching the tip air shoots out for about a minute or untill you let go and the 12 grams last about 2 minutes, well thats what I used. I strapped a 12 gram to my car and used a toothpick to stab the hole and had tape aruond the nooze which shot air out at very high speeds which in turn boosted my car. And this story is true. Try it for yourself if you dont believe it. The only thing I lied about was the tank being nos. But I did it to make it sound better so you guys wouldnt laugh at me and for you to notice me.

tinyrc 07-31-2002 07:10 PM

FunkyMonkey4, take a picture of the car with the CO2 cartridge in front of your computer monitor showing this web site in the background, and you'll prove it to us. ;)

ylexot 08-01-2002 09:23 AM

C'mon guys, you didn't know it was a joke from the very beginning?

The CO2 tank idea is actually quite old (but not for Bits). In middle school shop class, we made wooden cars for just that purpose and race them down the hall.

Of course, my lego car would blow the doors off of just about anything...two "C" rocket motors duct-taped to the lightest lego car frame I could make :D Sorry, no pics...those were the days before digital cameras existed and I didn't think to video tape it :(

FunkyMonkey4 08-01-2002 09:41 AM

Yes that is sort of what I did. I apologize for lying and exagerating. But it is highly possible to do this, as said by ylexot. I did not take any pics of it in action. The tank doesn't work that well but it is ok. Bye, and once again sorry. :)

Zagatto 08-02-2002 12:04 AM

Go NOS

How about a little NOS decal for the side of your car?
Sorry this doesn't show up better... the decal is gold foil and shows up excellently from other angles...

VrRrroOOOOooooMmmmm

tinyrc 08-02-2002 09:09 AM

Zagatto, that is a sweet ride, you need to take some more pics and post them in the Gallery!

andrzejpw 08-02-2002 09:41 AM

So. . . any pictures of the co2 tank?

btw: yeah, rocket engines are so much fun to play with. . . :D

I once took a D motor, and duct taped it to a wooden car that I have. That was fun. . . damn, I think I'm going to have to do it again. . .

FunkyMonkey4 08-02-2002 11:48 AM

Those are sweet rides. But to all who are ssyihg Im a loar and all of that and saying I have to prove it, well forget it about it. YOu dont mean that much to me for having to prove it to you. What, are you going to reward me with something? I gain othing. I though t I would shre my car with you. I dont owe anything to you guys. Especially the tiny rc admin who says hell believe me when I post my pic. Well guess wgat, I dont want to. Give me your email, and Ill send you my pic with the air. Otherwise get off my back. ANd as for tiny rc pro, you dont mean a single thing to anybody. Y0ur just a loser who rreads forums all day and wantes peopke to think of oyu as a god.

FunkyMonkey4 08-02-2002 11:51 AM

It hurts to know the truth doesnt it admin. Sorry for saying this, its just you really make me mad sometimes with your deroogative manner of thinking we all have to back up our owrds fo ryuo so you velieve us. And then you will have respect in us. Well, guess what. You respect means nothing. YOu read forums and your job is fondling with bit char-gs. lol.

FunkyMonkey4, you are too funny. You are aware that you have to be at least 13 to use the Forums, correct? Otherwise we need your parents' permission.

As far as "deroogative manner of thinking we all have to back up our owrds fo ryuo so you velieve us", I was able to decipher this I think, and I have to say that this is totally off base. I am sure that every other Forum member will back me up on this one. I asked nicely to see a pic as it's hard to believe that this would actually work, that's all. And you are the only person who has ever been asked to back up their words, so don't say "us", it's just you. Now, go ahead and email the pic like you said you would, the address is forums@tinyrc.com. And try to improve your attitude/behaviour.

FunkyMonkey4 08-02-2002 02:56 PM

Why do I need to email the pic to you? So that you believe me? Is that it? Wells news flash, if you had carefulle read teh previous messages, I said I didnt care if you beleived me or not. I will email the pics to the people in this forum, but no to you. I will email them, so that they can see it, but y would I let you see it. Thats pointless.

tinyrc 08-02-2002 05:52 PM

Namuna 08-02-2002 09:53 PM

Hey Funky,

Can I get a pic? I'd love to see that little Bit (hiked up on CO2) in action!

LMennuti38@yahoo.com

thanks!

blacksabbath070 08-02-2002 10:01 PM

NOS??????

NOS i believe is called nitrous in the world of racing NOS is a trademark name by holley sorry i just get kinda mad when people are like ' im going to put some NOS in my car" not realizing that NOS is a trademark hahahahha kinda like kleenex its supposed to be facial tissue yet every calls it Kleenex giving smaller businesses a disadvantage anyway LOL i found it hard to believe that you actually put NITROUS (lol) in your bit i recommend you dont fool us like that FunkyMonkey4 most of us here are grown up enough to not make fun of others ideas anyway please TELL THE TRUTH and please call it NITROUS not NOS this isnt the Fast and the Furious your not having Holley pay you money to use thier name

LeaDxPainT 08-02-2002 10:44 PM

black that hold true for scotch tape too...it really transparent tape but Scotch is the company name :)

Ya know, I actually liked that movie until whats-his-name said "Gotta get NOS". That line really annoyed me and it sounded so stupid. Well, that and the 10 second cars with 1000 pounds worth of stereo equipment in them. What BS.

sharpshooter 08-03-2002 10:58 AM

funkymonkey4, can I get a pic too? I just wanted to see how a bit would look like with a strapped on Co2 tank...

sharpshooter_360@hotmail.com

thanks!

Zagatto 08-05-2002 08:10 PM

Chemistry 101

Just to clear things up...
NOS is a brand of Nitrous Oxide which is represented in chemistry by NO... so maybe we should all listen to Nancy Reagan and "just say NO".

blacksabbath070 08-05-2002 09:15 PM

SO I WAS RIGHT

as i said NOS is a trademark brand by Holley Stupid kids that dont know anything about cars go around and are like "im using NOS in my crx blah blah blah" and they say that because of the FAST AND THE FURIOUS also its like the whole Kleenex issue NOS is like kleenex which is a trademark brand its actually supposed to be called facial tissue but everyone calls it Kleenex which is sad because it gives smaller businesses a disadvantage..... people can use NOS but they should call it nitrous unless they are speaking of a specific brand like ZEX or NOS but please if your not talking about a specific brand call it nitrous I hope this clears things up

Zagatto 08-05-2002 09:21 PM

English police

I thought I was @nal about the english language.
Dude... chill...
I realize that a number of items have become known by their brand rather than what they are:
Band-Aids = Bandages
Jello = gelatin
Xerox = photocopy
and so on...
the important thing to remember is that people understand what's being talked about. Unless you represent Holley and are defending their trademark, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

dvious1 08-06-2002 09:45 AM

NOS = Nitrous same difference. lol

why dont we just say that your "squeezing"

btw.........after reading this thread, i was laughing so hard that my belly started to jiggle like "Jello" and i started to cry so i needed a "kleenex". as i reached for it, i bumped my knee on the table, so now i need a "Band-Aid". anyways, im going to "Zerox" this thread and use "Scotch" tape to hang it on my wall.

:D

blacksabbath070 08-06-2002 08:51 PM

good point

hahahh thats great i understand all of your points hahhah im such a wierdo sometimes anyway today when I went to make a xerox copy of my middle finger for all the walmart people who treat me like crap (buts thats a different story) i happened to slip and fall face first into a jello display i then left to get a bandaid and..... ok i get what you mean :D

Zagatto 08-06-2002 08:57 PM

Just a follow up to this apparantly dead thread.
Xerox spent a lot of money in their advertising to seperate their name from the photocopier so they wouldn't have as much trouble branching into other products and to make it easier to defend their trademarked name.

On the other hand there's Zamboni... I'm not sure what you call the actual vehicle/ice clearing machine... but that's another trademark that people use all the time without even thinking there might be other brands.

I'm done with this topic now... I gotta get some NOS (Nights Of Sleep)...

HAHAHAHAA Thats what i was thinking:D

_NiTrOuS_ 08-14-2002 03:23 AM

how does it work anyway? Does the COČ just give a boost cause its gushing from the back like a rocket?

lol, after the fast and the furiouss came out, i see a whole bunch of wrongly tuned cars in my neighborhood, there are only a few that tune em right. I can tell cause all of the ones that tune them wrong remove the Honda logo on the front of their car cause in the movie they dont use them on their car, the only prob with that is that when they remove the logo, there is either a big hole where they removed and the paint is faded in the area on their hood, or they removed the logo from the grill and it looks like a deformed grill. lol:p I dont think that they are aware that there are other nitrous brands besides NOS:rolleyes:

Neon_Skylineboy 08-14-2002 08:25 PM

whoever started this thread should be slapped, i spent so much time reading this load of crap i forgot who started it...

DrkRAM 08-19-2002 11:44 PM

Indeed crap...

And there is no way that a toothpick is going to puncture and CO2 cartridge!! Please, if that was the case they would be going off all over the place...

The entire thing is a load of crud!

nitrous oxide N2O is injected into the engine where the combustion happens. The increase of N2O gives the engine extra fuel for combustion. more combustion(explosion) gives you more power. thats basically it. I don't really know that much about engines. I know there's 2 types of N2O kits. Wet and dry. the wet ones can only be used during wide open throttle which is better for your car. I think the wet goes in with the fuel or something like that...can't remember:o
