3.5 BitMOd1 motor is the $%&*

SO my 3.5 BitMod1 motor came in today along with a booster set for testing. I am running a 150 mah battery and 12:1 gears. I raced my wife with my auto modellista r34 skyline with the 3.5 motor against her and my r32 with the same setup but using the 3.8 (bought here ofcourse :D ) and it was not contest ! Not only did I walkaway on the hardwood floor my r34 with the 3.5 ran onto the carpet (and its not low pile ) and kept going  .. whew I just had to say it since I didn't see many comments on this one. Who thought .3 rpms would make a diff

SmokenRubber 12-03-2002 11:13 PM

very intersting now how does one do such a mod?

karlos 12-04-2002 12:58 PM

Its a motor sold through bit1mod. Its their 3.5 motor.

Snow 12-04-2002 11:37 PM

Not to be nitpicky and correct you, but it's actually a 5,000 rpm difference.

Acceptable_Risk 12-05-2002 01:21 AM

Not to be nitpicky to you but there's a 3000 rpm difference.

sketch 12-05-2002 05:26 AM

yeah my 3.5 motor came in yesterday (i actually bought 2)... and i'm lovin it! I used one on my Trueno, and another on my Wild Char-G! Highly recommended! it works nicely on my wild char-g!

karlos 12-05-2002 08:41 AM

Actually Snow is right if your using the boost button. There is a 3,000 rpm difference but when you hit the boost button I believe it kicks in another 2,000 rpm.

Snow 12-05-2002 09:14 AM

lol, yeah that's what I meant. Or that's what I would've meant if I knew how to add. I wasn't saying that just to feel cool or informative, just point out that 3,000 rpm would make a bigger difference than .3 rpm.

karlos 12-05-2002 01:23 PM

D'OH ! didn't realize I wrote .3 ??

SmokenRubber 12-05-2002 07:04 PM

Whats the difference between 1.0 2.2 2.6 3.0 and 3.8?

which one would make the car go super fast but not kill the left right motion?

karlos 12-05-2002 07:35 PM

With a 3.8 you will more than likely flip over when you try to turn so you'll have to slow down some. With the 3.0 you shouldn't be flipping as much on turns if your flippin at all. The 3.5 I noticed I don't flip over nowhere near as much as with the 3.8. Thats why I use the 3.8 in my "drag" car :D

TemjinNeo78 12-06-2002 09:20 PM

in my experience the fastest motor with a bit racer gear(3:43) is atcually the 3.8 you can punch out 11079 rpm (110,790 scale speed) Thats the speed of about 2 3.8's :D . Now maybe since u say these babies are faster than a 3.8.......tie for me to open up my wallet.:D BTW did your motor come with a white pinion gear also?

karlos 12-07-2002 08:09 AM

The 3.5 didn't come with a white racer gear..hmm I am going to have look into this 3:43 gear :D

I have the 3.8, with my tire/suspension setup I still occasionally flip over and my turning radius is pretty wide while I'm on the throttle.

I have heard that the 3.2 & 3.5 motors from bitmod1.com are better than the 3.8 because they have lots of torque which means they're quick off the line & can run on carpet.

skylineracer 12-10-2002 09:53 PM

what is your setup?

do you mind if i ask you what your setup is? i have a 2.6 with 8.25:1 gearing and anything i try just doesn't seem to help with steering and handling. thanks.

* 12:1 (blue) gears - makes the speed of the 3.8 managable
* Soft stabilizer bar - gives the handling push slightly
* Soft tire compound on all 4 tires - helps prevent spin-outs, but makes it flip occasionally

I just ordered my 3.5 w/ 150 battery. How many days till I get it?

JBit 12-16-2002 02:11 PM

Someone whois a motorhead should get all these top motors in a room and duke it our - or a pro mag like that new r/c mag should do it! See the other thread on my a DKS 3.4 is preferable to a OEM 3.8 (in my mind) but now this BitMod3.5 vs. a DKS 3.4 ... interesting!

TemjinNeo78 12-16-2002 04:41 PM

Im testing the slightly slower bitmod1 3.2 and the dks 3.1. The test will be used in my wild char-g when it comes in. As soon as these supplies come in watch for the "torque test"

xatu 12-23-2002 09:56 PM

I was just wondering...What color is the back of the motor?

w00t same here man, but on the 23rd.. I hope it gets here soon! I will be using it in my Auto Modellista kit, which will be here by the end of the week.

KAIKS 01-14-2003 07:35 PM

just a quick question:
what color are the back of your 3.5 motors?

frizzen 01-15-2003 03:00 PM

I don't know about anybody else's, but:

The 3.5 I got from BitMod1 are white.

Incredible motor, I just have to do some work to get it to seat properly in my clones.

xatu 01-15-2003 09:29 PM

No way! It's white?!?! Does it have a contact plate that is about half the size of the back of the motor, and 2 pieces of metal coming out of the side?!?!?! Cause if it does.... I have 5 of those! and one is broken
