DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO PUT A BODY KIT ON A BIT CHAR-G???

EvolutionR28, do you mean make your own? If so, get yourself some styrene sheets and model putty and have at it!

Evo, ill go with you to get that stuff cuz i need to buy some to make that custom integra. BTW, im thinking of makin an RSX, instead of a regular integra.

Hardware stores often have two part epoxy putty, though depending on the brand, it can be grainy.

I recommend Kneadatite Blue/Yellow epoxy putty, which should be available at any decent hobby store.

Only Milliput (White/Grey) is better for detail, but is more expensive and harder to find.

ive heard most gundam modellers say to use tamiya putty, and i tell you, the stuff some of them can scratchbuild is AMAZING.

Hello, I am a brand new member and am a big fan of Bit Char-g. So about the body kits, how do you make them? I know you just mold it into shapes, but are there any molds or kits that could help construct the shape of the body kit. THX!!!! :)

well using styrene sheets is pretty much like building a shelf outta wood. well i mean thats the way you use styrene sheets. either that way, or stack them in a pile and fuse them together to get a solid piece of styrene, but this is usually dont to make nice long round edges, like if you were making a hand or something. its pretty much sheets of plastic. this would be good for building full bodies, but probably not too good if youre planning on making just a new bumper or something. its also more for advanced ppl. you'd probably want to use putty for this. think of it kinda like clay. usually, you mold some of it to the car in the place that you want it roughly. then when it dries, then you can go at it with sandpaper and such to get the desired shape.

There seems to be a good amout of question about body kits on these forums. I just started out my Subaru Rally car replica (my first bit body), and I've decided to make a bit body kit walkthrough/guide. It's gonna take a while to make the car, which I'm using for pictures, so it won't be up for a while :( , but I use to paint miniatures, so I have some good tricks that will help you all...

i know its been a while since the last post but umm.. i tried to put a body kit on my WRX.. it turned out ok but i need better glue.. lol but here it is anywhooo:D :D

heres just a thought, but you could use that thicker clear plastic cover stock that they use for the covers on reports for making wings/ground efx/spoilers/ or for patching your car back together after it gets stepped on. if you break a fender replace it with this stuff and paint it a different color from the rest of the body...

On the subject of using the plastic that they use for reporte, if you are talking about the stuff that is similar in thickness as overhead projecter sheets, i think it could be used as a "carbon fiber" hood.

You could dremel out your hood, dremel a little bit of a grove on around the hole you just made, and then glue the new plastic in. this would probobly save a realitivly good amount of weight.

the stuff that im thinnking about is about 5 times as thick as an overhead transparency. transparency paper is pretty thin. if you go to a kinkos or something like that they will have what im talking about. but i guess overhead transparency would work great too. it would just be super thin. and not very strong.

A good material to use for making body kits is that plastic on floppy disks.. that sliding thing lol you could use the metal one but i found a black plastic and it works well!

err i tried that a LONG time ago with my celica, and i wouldnt recommend it becasue my body snapped in half after being taken off/on and switching stuff

i know an way to make stuff lighter for body kits. it came up on accident. i was trying to take the paint of a clone body. i used nail polish remover. it lift stains though and i wanted to do interior paints. so i soaked it in the nail polish remover, but i forgot about it and when i remember it after 30 mins or so it was super messed. i thought about posing it but it came out weird. anyways it was super soft and moldable. any ways all i did was cut the part of a car that seemed straight and fit the body semi good. then i molded it to the car and make it look ok. then i harden it with a hair drier. it was still messed up because the plastic had melted some. anyway when it harded so it was like normal, i used a really fine sandpaper and i smoothed it out. then filled in the gaps with multiply light layers of superglue. so the pieces were really light because it was made of a stock plastic. anyways i fixed it up so it was smooth and fit the car then i uses supergule to stick it onto the body then painted it so it was nice.

i got some pics of my s2000 with a body kit it looks nice it just needs to be sanded and painted.when im finished ill post pics.
