3.0=Lucifer Rotor?
I just think it's funny that the motor has its own name. The Micro B 3.0 motor, or the "Red Motor," is named the Lucifer Rotor on the packaging. I think I'll pass and give this one to my friend, I can barely keep up with the 2.2 (I do spin-outs constantly with it!)What are the names of the other replacement motors?

i got a 3.4 called "Darkside Rotor":D .
|
I have the blue capped motor rated at 10,000 RPMs called the "Stock Motor".
|
 "Stock Motor"
WOW! |

some 3.8s are called "pink slip rotor" also...get a tire set for your car with it's 3.0, so you can put harder tires up front and softer in back, no more spinning, just mellow turns and the 2.2 in the rear veiw mirror :D :D |
Hi, i'm sorry if this isn't the right thread but i need some advice/help. i just purchased a 3.0 motor and battery set from ebay. the battery works. the motor works but it kinda needs a push to get going. if not it will just studer along until a few inches then it will go. and not as fast as i expected a 3.0 to go. can anyone help me???

make sure that the gears are firmly meshed. if you think the one on your motor might be to blame, replace it with the gear from your old motor - that should do the trick. if the motor is misaligned, you can fit it snugly in place with half a matchstick (found that mod thru the tinyrc search function)

the motor works but it takes of really slowly an gittery. should i send it back or can i fix it?
|
rebel, my 3.0 dose the exact samething and i just dont use it no more. it seems slow 4 a 3.0 and i think it had happend 2 other unlucky people such as us.:D . just buy or return and get a diffrent motor.
|
if it stutters, then its most likely not the motor. The reason lower speed motors work, but 3.0s dont is because lower motors have more torque to push gears that are binding. At a standstill, driving a 3.0 is like starting off the line in 4th gear...lots of strain, not much torque, and takes a long time to hit top speed. Your gears need to be loose...try moving your motor positon with folded paper or something...just try to get your transmission to the point where if you are on a smooth surface, your car will roll around just by pushing it, so it freewheels kind of. This might help.

cowfish, its the motor that is brokin on minez, cuz i took all the gears out and tried the motor alone, and it studders and stop, till u toch it.
|
THANKS COW FISH... i'll do that as soon as i wake up in the morning!!!!!! hope it works:D
|
COWFISH.... does thatr mean that a 3.8 wont have any acceleration?

Hi ... Is th 3.0 motor sold here at TinyRC an orig Tomy(Bit Racer) ?
|
it's sold as a Bit Racer part, not Char-G.
I installed mine today (decided to keep it since my friend will soon have a 2.6 booster set - got to keep competitive!) and this this is wicked! i had to totally change my driving technique, like stabbing the turn and keeping the accelerator on in order to avoid spinouts - this thing can do a perfect slow drift in a big circle, awesome! i know it's not the steering that is sluggish, because the second i lay off the gas it does a spinout unless i counterturn, lol. that was all on a hardwood floor. on the kitchen tile it was amazing - i had better handling (i guess ceramic=better driving surface) but due to the bumpiness in between the tiles my Mach flipped over for the first time, even did a few 2-wheel side wheelies lol. this thing has serous top speed, but the torque is a bit lacking. i think overall i will keep this 3.0 under wraps and use the 2.2 when racing my friend's AE86 (1.0 and axle set) but when his booster comes, watch out! |
3.8s have just take time to build up their total speed...but using 12:1 (blue) gearing will help compensate, because hey...in normal driving, you hardly would ever get your 3.8 up to its top speed with Teal (top end) gears anyways. You would just be very slow, and once you GOT to top speed and turned, you slow down again, having to wait forever for it to speed up again. Despite this being slow, it also means less battery.
note: the above setting might be good for drag racing..dunno Quote:
I just found the little tab on the back of the motor, slid an exacto knife under it, and bent it out EVER so slightly...not hardly at all. If that's not it, then i would send it back. |
