Garden Hose with holes from the puppies... - 0$
Black Tarp which the first 3 layers were torn up from the puppies - 0$
Ply wood that suprisingly was untouched by the puppies - 0$

What kind of material is the tarp made out of? It looks like it would be an inexpensive track surface. My dining room table is a little slick.

Here is the start of my oval, it will be painted brown with brown ido/outdo carpet. It is gonna look like a dirt oval. I plan on making it a banked oval stay tuned for picture when it is done.

dude! join the club what board do you have I got some slide trucks quickies bearings and a variflex magnaforce deck this deck is out of production

FELIX 11-05-2002 01:03 PM

I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST TRACK
I HOPE TO HAVE PICS SOON

FOR THE BASE I USED BLACK GATOR BOARD THAT I GOT FOR FREE
I USED 2-3'x4' PIECES AND A 2"x4' PIECE, THEN I HINGED THEM TOGETHER WITH 4 HINGES AND ZIP TIES.

FOR THE GUARD RAILS I USED 3/4" ALUMINUM ANGLES ($6.00 FOR 8')THAT I GLUED DOWN, THEN I USED ALUMINUM TAPE FOR THE CURVES($3.50 FOR 60YDS)

THE GATOR BOARD GIVES GOOD GRIP AND THE WAY IT'S PUT TOGETHER I CAN FOLD IT UP AND ITS ONLY 3'x4'x2" THICK, BUT WHEN I'M USING IT IT'S 6'-2"x4' WHICH IS PLENTY OF ROOM.

MY LANES ARE 8" WIDE. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE JUST ASK.

My track =x Total Cost $20 and its separatable into 3 sections

kajoq what did you use for the barrier?

Kajoq 11-05-2002 08:55 PM

It is a 50' flat sprinkler hose, it works GREAT, its 1 inch tall and about 1/4 inch thick, 10 bucks for 50' at ace hardware

dok 11-06-2002 05:33 AM

The tarp feels like some type of plastic, it was just lying around in my friends garage, his puppies tore up the first few layers of it so we figured we would use it :p

krackle 01-05-2003 12:45 PM

before this gets moved to the track forum heres mine

first track, 4x4 pegboard material, track is primer gray, excellent surface, good grip with some drift took me a couple of hours was fun.

Silent_NightR34 01-05-2003 02:03 PM

hey Robbo69 wats that watery ooking stuff thats right next t the last picture on the turn??is it water or somthin so people can skid out on it?

PWalk 01-05-2003 05:01 PM

I'll tell ya what I do,

I've had a subscription to MAXIM magazine for about 4 years now so I just lay all the magazines out on the tile floor around my bar and race.
It's great this way because you can modifythe track on the fly and storage is nothing more than piling them up and putting them back on the shelf.
Try it it's a cheap, fast way to set up a track with infinite adjustments.

I will post photos as soon as I get a cord for my camera.

Mine's Got a LAP TIMER

hehe, i made a cheapo track here in the philippines.
made of Plywood, painted with black acrylic, and side rails made of ice cream buckets lying around.
since i also played TAMIYA's mini 4WD. i used my Laptimer and installed it to the track's finish line.

any Filipino's interested to race with me at the track? i dont know any Micro RC community here in the phils. anyway off topic. i started with the 3 ferrari set given to me as a gift.
